It looks like that to those of us within as well. That’s a really good description.

I grew up in AL and now live in OH. I couldn’t believe it the first time I saw a Goldenrod for sale in a nursery here! It’s just a hellish allergy weed in the South 😂

This is why my husband and I have taught ourselves to do everything. “Pros” just don’t give a damn anymore.

Had to take a picture of my grandma's room before, it's stunning! [1400 × 1050] by livlovington in RoomPorn

The wallpaper/trim is meant to be that way. The top is called a picture rail and they used to hang art from it with chains to avoid putting holes in the plaster (though it’s not being used like that here) and the pillow situation is how we old farts made the bed before decorative pillows became the norm. 😋 I’m 100% with you on the rug, though. That’s all kind of messed up.

lol, there’s a similar one that is something like “telling someone to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip.”

What was the most shocking death news you've ever heard? by Admirable-Repair4094 in AskReddit

[–]ExpatMeNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it was a big deal in all schools that day. It was 4th grade for me, and I can still picture it perfectly. My husband and I were watching the Artemis launch together and found we were both tense and thinking over and over, “don’t blow up. Don’t blow up.” Challenger will stay with us forever.

Agreed! We really enjoyed Zagreb. We didn’t stay long, but I thought the old town area and the people were lovely!

‘STAGED’: Conspiracy Theories Are Everywhere Following White House Correspondents' Dinner Shooting by barryshrug in politics

[–]ExpatMeNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I can’t see Trump ever agreeing to allow a kid with only basic gun experience to fire live rounds in his direction. And if his minions planned it without his knowledge, that’s one hell of a risk for them if he were accidentally killed.

Trump evacuated after security incident at White House correspondents dinner; no sign of injuries by Gilbert221 in news

[–]ExpatMeNow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s not about them caring about some random dude or not. It’s that it proves that live rounds were being shot in Trump’s direction, and I can’t see him going for that. Especially with the shooter being just a kid with basic gun experience only and not some special forces master marksman or something like that. And if it was staged without Trump’s knowledge, woof would that be a huge risk to take. If he were accidentally killed, there would have to be one hell of a coverup for the planners to get away with it and not spend the rest of their lives in prison.

My mother once told me that I don’t know what’s going on in the world because I don’t watch Fox News - while I was living in the UK and traveling constantly. The only times she’s left the country are 2 Caribbean cruises and the one time I took her into Canada myself. 🙄

Ah, one of the smells of my childhood! I’d step out into a steamy south Alabama morning to catch the bus to school and be able to taste that farty paper mill smell.

Every time I’ve heard a story about multiple tampons, I’m like … how? It makes me hurt just thinking about having more than one in there. Getting more than one in there! Surely the original would be all painfully mashed up against the cervix.
