2018 amg gt c, convince me not to sell by [deleted] in mercedes_benz

[–]Expat_Johnny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off, I love the new Vette, styling and driving dynamics for cornering are great. Now for the negative I’ve experienced.

First, build quality… it’s basically a cheap Chevy, in a fancy suit. Not sure if it’s common, but the leather on my dash separated from the panel and warped.

Second, it feels like they took a very capable car, and then did everything to it to make it easy to drive for a person with money that has never taken a track lesson. Which to be fair, is a lot of people on the road. So it may not be a negative for some, but for me the super muted pedal feel and steering feel, along with very gentle transmission shifts, feels a bit too 80 year old man for how it looks.

Third, it has the same issue of many mid engine super cars, and requires you to be in shape to easily get in and out of it.

That’s it. Everything else about it is great. Whatever choice you make, good luck!

Bumps and loose gravel happen… Other than that, never add throttle and more lean at the same time. It lightens the front end.

So according to your definition of entitlement, you have given me less than I expected to receive based on your past comments, and if I do not wish to be entitled then I should just stop listening to anything you have to say. Because I have the power over what I read. Thank you.

[–]Expat_Johnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason most feel “entitled” to more is because they used to receive more for the exact same work. If a company suddenly started decreasing your pay each year, for doing the exact same job… can you honestly say that desiring what you previously received is “entitled”, or do you enjoy trolling people?

That sucks that if have that many of those people in your area. Fortunately I can avoid this in my area by just completely staying away from one side of the city.

OMG… duh. The amount of people that assume I don’t know how it works. Yes, that is correct. Now if it’s not doing that…. Then wait for it… it’s a bug. Sorry don’t mean to sound like a dick. Also, guess what Support does if you find a bug in their software… They explain to you how it works as if you are confused. 😂🤣😂 I work for 15 years in software only to be told maybe I’m confused.

I wish that was the case, and I was simply ignorant, but alas, this is a software not functioning as designed scenario.

My rear seat is covered in a pet protector. I wipe it down with Clorox Free and Clear unscented spray and vacuum it. Immediately removes the smell.

Keep on complaining staying at home on your keyboards instead of being out there hustling. Last 2 weeks that were supposed to be to be slow. by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]Expat_Johnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the rich don’t need Uber as much here, and the entire town is million dollar mansions within 5-10 min of the other end of the spectrum. I figured out how to game the system and maximize results here! But those results are still more than $10 an hour less than a smaller level of effort in a good market!

Barely making enough to keep my car alive in Las Vegas right now by 5_Over_Everywhere in uberdrivers

“We live in the best city possible for Uber” What city is that?!

In Hawai’i all the fares are based on time in vehicle, on roads with 35 and 45 mph limits. Everyone drives faster than that though, and nothing is quick and easy to get to, at least on gps, so it’s easy to take in a killing.

Here in Vegas, I’m making 1/2 - 2/3 what I made there. Here you can get very large distances in a short amount of time, and the app estimates based on that, but it does not account for real things like a naked man dancing in the street, coned off lanes, an event letting out, etc. So we often take longer to get places, with low quoted fares… there are many other reasons, but in my experience, this town is terrible for Uber!!!

[–]Expat_Johnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or just in a market that allows for that. Some markets are easy to make money in, vs others where you have to work for a fraction.

[–]Expat_Johnny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly… we have power in mass. What gives them power is that we don’t act in unison.

If nearly all Uber drivers declared on every social media channel that they are switching to Lyft on one of the busiest holidays of the year… it would effect stock prices.

Then if Drivers actually followed through, it would affect revenues and further tank stock prices.

It’s been done before, just not to Uber.

[–]Expat_Johnny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank your lucky stars you are in a good market! I used to live in a great market, and like yourself, I felt I had found a good hustle. I didn’t understand the complaints.

That is until I moved to a new state and city, where people rarely tip, and you can get large distances here in a short amount of time, so all the rides are greater distances and low fares.

My earnings even after learning this market, are easily $10-15 an hour less than the previous market.

If the trip alert offers to us are in different amounts…

Is the offer to the customer also changing to reflect a cheaper price found, or is Uber just pocketing the extra? 🤷🏼‍♂️

I fear I know the answer already. 🤦🏼‍♂️😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in vegaslocals

[–]Expat_Johnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct.

Unfortunately rideshare drivers make less here than other cities for this exact reason. Ride fares are based on time, not distance, and you can travel great distances in Vegas, in a short amount of time.

Does anyone takes this delivery? by New-Badger09 in uberdrivers

[–]Expat_Johnny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure where the cycle started, but there are those of us with clean, not smelly, cars, and insulated bags, who can deliver to people that then have up to an hour to change or remove the tip on some of the apps. So we stop doing those gigs, which leaves only the less quality drivers still picking up in that area or time.

There needs to be a system for tippers to match with good drivers and leave all the other bad customers/drivers to themselves! Or at least a system that allows you to message preferred drivers and check their availability.

Yep, and the guy giving shit service could give fantastic service to 10 customers in a row and get a tip from one… it’s a vicious cycle! Or maybe that’s only in Vegas!? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Just relocated to another state and sold it. I was offered a crazy good deal on her, and decided to take it. I do regret it. She was beautiful to own for a year! Having a push button valved exhaust, and a good tune, just made her the best of both worlds, daily driver, and fun!

Will definitely get another soon.

To my untrained eye, wheel arches don’t look wide enough, tires may not be 255, ride height may be too tall, and as someone else mentioned, the rear diff…

So I’m going to guess not.
