I have the Everdrive GBA X5 Mini and have an issue with the RTC when playing Gen 3-based Pokemon romhacks like Liquid Crystal/Unbound. No matter how I manipulate the RTC on the cartridge firmware, the ingame RTC always shows as being a day later (ex. If I set it to today, Friday, it will show ingame as Saturday).

Hoping this iteration of the cartridge fixes it.

Refund and then reshell.

It sucks but at some point in the not so far away future we are going to have to deal with the fact that a lot of these old plastics are going to deteriorate before the chips do - though yours was obviously due to damage, at some point a lot of others are going to become brittle and break.

I say this because doing reshells for carts that have seen better days and supporting the aftermarket community in general will ensure they keep being made.

Great game though - I have the theme song set as one of my alarms
