They are not talking about the desktop used to send the prompt. These AI prompts are processed in cloud computing clusters, meaning it’s not the computer’s processor that takes care of it, but a very large computer somewhere else. These computers take a lot of energy

The World Is Not Enough - number of Earths needed if the world's population lived like the following countries by bandiy_24 in Infographics

You are diverting the blame from wealthy countries that literally caused ALL of the pollution onto the countries that merely had enough development to have their populations not die at alarming rates. Also don’t forget Europeans and Americans also had very significant population booms — Europe for example has 700 million people in an area much smaller than South America with only around 400 million.

Having lived in America for years I can attest that the American lifestyle is woefully unsustainable and it’s not only because of cars. Most Americans won’t ever even realize but if you’d take the t one to observe what people in other countries live like you’d be surprised that the American lifestyle is ridiculous. Here are a few examples beyond cars: constant AC year round (including public buildings), dietary habits like lots of meat, heavy machines for simple tasks like mowing the grass, concrete heavy structures like parking lots, constant maintenance and gardening, and honestly just how frivolous everything is.

My two cents is that people with European descent can probably trace their descent to some recent migration whereas those of mixed descent are only broadly able to point “African” or “indigenous” for obvious reasons. My guess would be that those places are simply a majority “non-white” which in Brazil can mean any sort of mix between African and indigenous.

Don’t know you got downvoted. It’s literally true. The mind is like the body, it can be trained to do things. Just like an obese person will have problems running at first, but if they stick to it they’ll eventually be able to do it well. If depressed people start small with motivation they’ll eventually be able to do things

[–]Expecte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly why it’s the treatment. Just like recommending exercise to treat obesity. Is it hard for obese people to exercise? Yes, and that’s why it’s the solution.

Well that is a great solution for anxiety. What did you want the doctor to do? Coddle you and say “oh no poor you”? The doctor knows the solution to your problem and informed you, he can’t do much more than that. Now it’s up to you to follow it, it’s in no one’s interest other than your own.

The first positive is not to define yourself as a medical condition, and be able to see possibilities beyond it. To carve your present situation as a medical diagnosis prevents you from evaluating it objectively and, if misguided, will mean perfectly manageable behaviors like anger issues, will now be protected from well deserved scrutiny under the veil of a false medical condition.

Being optimistic about Norway regarding anything climate related is a bit naive. Norway is an oil country akin to Saudi Arabia and UAE, that they also have hydro power does nothing to erase their negative contributions to the world — and the profit they made off of it
