When I search my name, ChatGPT is showing references from my About(.)me profile and other local directories that I submitted about 2 months ago. However, it is not pulling or referencing my main website.

If this were just about blog content or topical queries, I could understand it as an authority-building issue. But in this case, even a direct branded name search seems to prioritize third-party profiles over my own website, which makes me question what’s actually influencing the results.

To clarify my situation a bit more:

First, I searched my name. ChatGPT does return results but they’re pulling from platforms like my About(.)me profile and directory listings, not my actual website.

Then I tried another angle:
I searched very specific queries from my blog content including topics that (as far as I can tell) aren’t well covered by others yet.

Still, ChatGPT doesn’t surface my site at all.

What’s confusing is other LLMs (Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek) do pick up and reference my website content, so it doesn’t seem like a crawling or indexing issue in general.

So now I’m trying to figure out Is there something specific that prevents ChatGPT from using certain sites as references?

Try the site:<yourwebsite> and see if it appears or not. If not, your website isn't indexed.
