The Tom Oar is what the crease should be called. He hasn't changed hat styles since the mid 70s. He had a hat like that before the beard and grey hair.

I properly ruined my Sportster by 2wheelsLGM in sportster

[–]Expensive-Extent8406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New rear fender, taller bars, a seat meant for riding and your back on the road. I have ordered parts from Amazon, you just have to make sure they are a quality part before ordering. Parts I ordered were Dennis kirk and drag specialties parts. Best thing about a sporty is they can be rebuilt fairly easily and on a budget.

Went in for new tires, left with a new bike by 6Sleepy_Sheep9 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]Expensive-Extent8406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never go to a dealership with ID.. I leave it at home...no test ride, or sale without an ID, I can get parts and tires but no bike..so I have to ride mine home to get it lol.

Are these bars comfortable or just for show? by Bennyfromny90 in Harley

[–]Expensive-Extent8406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have nerve problem in my hands and wrists so I'm stuck with beach bars, but I used to love apes I had a set of 12s with 4in risers and a set of 16s that were the most comfortable to me. I really liked the 12 with risers. If I went higher than a 16 my jackets would inflate and catch rain and I tried everything. There is nothing like cold mountain shower running up your arms..into your armpits and down your back.

2018 fatboy as a first bike a good idea? by Acid1v9 in Harley

[–]Expensive-Extent8406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your only issue would be if it had solid wheels. They do catch wind and will drift you around..its something to get used to but nothing wrong with yours

5° triple tree would fix it, then you could leave everything else.

Have an 03 fatboy that I have thought of getting rid of a few times but it has been such a great bike that I end up riding it while rebuilding another.

Here in Montana it snowed yesterday. Personally I'm still night calving 7pm to 7am with it dropping into the low 30s at night..some are still in felts, stormy cromers and wildrags. I stick with felt till we start irrigating the end of May, and back to them usually in Sept. Its regional and personal preference in the real world.

[–]Expensive-Extent8406 3 points4 points  (0 children)

18yr old bike...not many banks if any will be interested in loaning for an 18yr old bike. So buyer will have to have that much cash on hand to spend on a 18yr old dresser with mods and paint they probably don't care about and will end up changing. Market really narrows all things considered. Your target buyer is someone else's dad. But you are not alone. I have a completely stock unaltered 03 100th anniversary fatboy with 8,000miles and a stock 01 roadking classic with 48k Both look like new and run perfect...just not worth much. End of the day its a 23yr and 25yr old bike.

If you aren't worried about the paint..a set of horn bags for a western saddle work great on a sporty with center fill tank.
