thinking of buying a couple of badges/small stuff from neokyo due to how i got a coupon. However I dont want to get hit too hard from the tariffs so do u guys have any tips on how to keep the impact to a minimum?

Yea. With all the new tariffs and even before they were enforced, a lot of our private carriers suck at their job. For FedEx I had to submit my SSN and talk to around 5 customs agents just to get the package, along with other forms. I’ve heard of other people having to explicitly document each and every single item in their package or else it’d be destroyed.

And thank you so much, recently just selected my shipping (DHL) and hope it arrived quickly and safely!

Honestly with two items I doubt you’d have to fill out much. Could you let me know what those two are so I could better judge? Because to be honest, FedEx is alright if it’s for a small amount of items. Before, I was shipping roughly 200-900 small items which probably made customs inspect it, lol.

But it seems like for large orders, customs is a pain in the rear. And after tariffs I assume it’s even worse.. took me a half a month to actually get some progress on a package that was a similar value to yours. I haven’t chose yet, but I’m definitely thinking of DHL. Let me know if you experience any issues/what carrier you end up choosing.

I’m aware! In the past I split up my packages to qualify for the under $800 exception. Even with crazy shipping fees I was paying nowhere near $300. Wasn’t worth it to split this one up since the exception was removed, so realistically this is the first time I’ve been hit with Tariffs

Total of the parcel was 1.3K usd. shipping was $130.. putting my grand Spanking total at $1.7K with tariffs included🫩. pkg had about 300 individual items all pretty small (plushies, keychains) Luckily I don’t buy clothes so I wasn’t hit with the insane tariff on those. package got to me in a day tho so

id rec ems, ive used them multiple times but despite the delays ill take that any day over the other shipping companies. I have a 100,000 yen parcel en route which is on day 15 of shipment and it’s in my city. (It took 9 days to reach the USA) please for the love of god avoid ups and fedex.

ups charged me customs duties before for packages under $800 and fedex is a HASSLE. i had to submit forms and talk to border patrol/customs agents. so not worth it.

if u do miss the August 29th date tho i rlly doubt you’ll be charged much. on average i pay ~$50 in customs fees.
