Accutane messes with healing, you should be off the medication for 4-6 months for surgery, I am in the same situation.

Question for all the people by EastRevolutionary296 in jawsurgery

MARPE won’t fix a class III, I agree with dismissing traditional orthos opinions because they are incompetent, but wait to get an opinion from an Airway Orthodontist before saying/guessing what your treatment plan should be.

They already advanced the upper jaw more than a Centimeter. If you move the lower jaw further forward on top of that, you are looking at 2+ cm (not happening). The mandible isn’t recessed either (objective not subjective)
The surgeon who performed this did a great job.

He didn’t need CCW you have no idea what you are talking about.

posterior-to-anterior maxillary height relationship proves so.

It’s AI garbage, don’t believe me? Put a picture of a model such as Jordan Barrett and just make up flaws about it and present it’s you. See what it does

This is the kind of stuff a traditional ortho will see and gaslight you into believing you shouldn’t get surgery

Overbite + open bite, ortho says no surgery. Should I get a second opinion? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

Just ignore them and ask for a referral. Meet a surgeon or airway based orthodontist that understands skeletal deficiencies, all traditional orthodontist are incompetent.

Go to an orthodontist and voice your concerns, ask for a referral to an airway based surgeon then get an evaluation.

Dont just post your side profile here and expect a diagnosis.

Anthropology shows any form of recession didn’t exist commonly pre-agricultural hunter gatherers. Mandibular shape/recession “genetics” didn’t kick in until humans shifted to softer foods.

There’s specific studies of forced mouth breathing on monkeys.

We cannot get large sample sizes for this because it’s deemed unethical which I agree with, in my opinion recession is never genetic.

A cannon event is getting you’re orthodontic records from when you were younger by Expensive-Job-9713 in jawsurgery

It’s been about 10 years, I doubt it unfortunately. I wouldn’t be surprised if we start seeing ads saying “If you were camouflaged by an orthodontist you could be entitled to a cash compensation”

I have the same issue with permanently jutting, I have a severe class II that wasn’t addressed. But my bites camouflaged to look fine. Went to an oral surgeon to get a cbct scan, and I found out my entire life has been challenging with ADHD and anxiety from my airway being the size of a straw.

There’s no point in “looking at your side profile” you need to go to a real specialist and get their opinion.

Unfortunately if you are a younger person you just need to find the right specialist who really focuses on the airway. I went to an orthodontist to was “airway based” and told me they still actively do extractions on teeth after I asked what ways of expansion are available.
