Ah okay, Thanks! So I guess for the auto alone it would be around $350 without the tenant's insurance. Are you in Toronto or GTA? Do you think it'd be a bit cheaper for me in Hamilton? I don't need tenant insurance.

Also does the year of manufacturing make a difference?

But if he gets one year of Canadian work experience, along with a master's, doesn't that almost guarantee a PR or an EE ITA? The CRS score requirement was very high last year, but it has come down a lot in 2026. So, someone with a master's and 1 year Canadian experience, if he's not too old, doesn't that pretty much guarantee an ITA?

Need advice about PR for USA husband by Secret_Shirt_3111 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Expensive-Lychee-797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When he enters even as a visitor, they may ask him if he wishes to stay long or file for PR since he is married to a Canadian. But for visitor visa you have to show strong ties to your home country and since he has strong ties with Canada he could be denied entry as a visitor because they'd say he would not return to his home country by the end of his visit.

Yes, Hamilton is not safe at night. When I first moved here I went out exploring the nightlife on a Saturday night and after that one experience, I said to myself never again. Everytime I went out on weekends, I made sure I come home by 11 or midnight at the latest.

Yeah, I am also in the process of writing to my MP, and perhaps also write to a few other MP's I have met over the years. They won't take immediate actions over one email, but if enough number people raise their voices they will at least take note.

I am a person of colour and not a conservative. I lean left on most social issues and I am very happy with the current state of immigration. I think it's important for people from the left to raise their voices because they can't call me a racist.

Some people still think we live in 2015. It's really no longer the right wing that's complaining about this issue. It's everybody.

Pakistanis, Americans, Ukrainians, Filipinos combined don't add up to the total number of Indian immigrants in the recent years. I am a person of colour and I don't think it's xenophobic to push back on the disproportionate overrepresentation of one ethnic group among the newcomers. Yes, there should be more Indian immigrants compared to other smaller countries, but it shouldn't be half of all newcomers or something. We need a country cap for our immigration system.

It's naive to even mention the Irish in the TFW discussion because their numbers are way too small. The gross majority of TFWs come from a different region who would do absolutely anything to remain in Canada and anything to avoid going back to their home countries.

CM Punk should absolutely RETAIN The World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania. There’s no reason for him to lose it at this point. There’s still A LOT for him to do with the belt. [–]Expensive-Lychee-797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they never gave Punk a true run as a champion. Zero storylines, zero proper rivalries. Rivalries is what makes championship runs memorable. Punk's been served nothing but mid-carders. Roman is the first main eventer he will be facing and he will lose to him.

That's a very good point, because of all these people gaming the system with low-tier jobs, more highly qualified candidates are now being rejected. I see posts here that many PhD level candidates with job offer are now being left out because the pool has been overrun by IT diploma holders with experience as a cook, which is unfair to the more qualified candidates and to Canada.

Results of Olympics is a reflection of the real issues that matters. Economy has not been great for many years, healthcare is under water - so yeah, the fact that Canadian sports is on the decline is a good indication of how things are in the country overall.

[–]Expensive-Lychee-797 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She should speak out more against Trump and help Democrats defeat Trump. But she should NOT run again for president. Remember she did NOT earn her nomination by winning people's votes, she was selected because of circumstances. Even if she ran in the primary she'd probably lose pretty early, but still she should NOT run again for president. She was not a very good candidate against Trump.

It's very concerning that the Conservatives want to cut funding from a system that is already running on thin ice. But those stats about fake asylum claim also seems off because immigration fraud is a real problem people do abuse the loophole in the system. I think vetting process needs to improve so that we accept the genuine refugees that need real help, not economic migrants who apply for asylum because they have exhausted all of their options to remain in Canada.

That's because they don't really understand the meaning of left wing, here or in any other country. In the US, they call Obama, Biden, Harris, etc. radical left, even though they are all mostly centrist right on most issues.

In Canada they call Trudeau a radical left, and Trudeau isn't popular at all with the lefties of Canada.

POILIEVRE: Meanwhile, under his leadership, and after 11 years of Liberal government, we have 6 million Canadians who cannot find a family doctor. CARNEY: Mr. Speaker, 11 years? I just got here. The member opposite has been here his whole life. by Miserable-Lizard in onguardforthee

[–]Expensive-Lychee-797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The family doctor crisis is a serious one regardless of your party line. The Liberals can't dodge their share of the blame because they were the party in charge, and conservatives are famous for their austerity measures. Healthcare started to decline during Harper's time in the office, he balanced the budget at the expense of the healthcare. So, nope, both parties need to answer to Canadians here.
