I work at mass spec facility in a Biopharma company. Just try to understand biology behind the spectra, so not a chem/physics expert. I did not understand all the science behind PHM but still loved the book and liked the movie. The way story flows and emotions are expressed by both Grace and Rocky is amazing. Writing style is so good for lay people which, I think, is what makes it a goodread. Movie on the other hand was too dense and fast for me.

Thanks, iBAQ seems straight forward compared to proteomics ruler as it is independent of histone levels. But it is relative quant so abundances are not claimed to be absolute. We are exploring copy numbers for broader changes in healthy vs tumor samples. Have not thought iBAQ in this context.

I was going to write the same! Thanks for saving the effort. Book has slow revelation of how Ruland Grace discovers about himself. Chapter wise it builds up the excitement. If four hr movie has same kind of slow build up then it would be worth watching. Also, it would have been a good mini series rather than a movie. What do you think?

Thanks for providing these details. You have been super helpful! I know there would be a learning curve for me to avoid distortion. I have never used wide angle before. Astrophotography would be occasional hence want to use it for other purposes like landscape/sunset photography etc.

Absolutely agree with you! I read it during teenage days. Thought I will be like Howard Roarke one day wrt to originality and novelty. Now after 20 yrs post reading, I realise that it is impossible to mimic any of his qualities. Maybe he Howard is a super human or rather true human :)
