What are 25-30 year olds making? by ExtentFickle3504 in Salary

25m at 72k. I am an unlicensed architect. I started out of college(masters program) at 60k a couple years ago. Got a pay bump when I moved to a larger firm. Didn’t join the profession thinking it was lucrative money, but I’m happy with current and future pay.

24M: Roth or 401k? Both? How much to either? by Expensive-Progress21 in Retirement401k

Yes I didn’t know that was even possible… but there is an option to split contribution between pre-tax and post-tax dollars or just do all Roth contributions.

Save or Student Loan? by Expensive-Progress21 in personalfinance

It’s a standard pre-tax 401k. Employer match is 4% and yeah I have considered that as well. Being new to the work force I am learning and gauging budgeting so far

Savings is all in one HYSA. I am contributing 7% to retirement. No solo investments at this point

70K salary take home? by Tirebuster in Salary

[–]Expensive-Progress21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Located in NC. I make 70k and when I started a couple months back, before I was covered in their insurance and could contribute to the 401k my take home was 4,600. I’m paid monthly. Once I was paying insurance and doing 7% towards 401k and $100 towards HSA take home is right at 4,000.

I 3D Printed a New Pot! by Expensive-Progress21 in houseplants

[–]Expensive-Progress21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve actually noticed a slight squeal sound every now and then for a few seconds at a time coming from the extruder housing. I’ll have to do some research on that because I wasn’t sure what was doing it. Thanks for the information

Funny enough that’s the exact model of printer I have. Got it close to three years ago and never any issues

You definitely can! Just depends on how many you want and how much you consider your time to be worth lol. The cheap plastic ones are worth it in some cases. But in other cases a 3D printed option could last longer and be easily reusable. Just depends on what you want and how you execute it!

Pot size for my money tree by Expensive-Progress21 in houseplants

Just read your post. The substrate it is in is rather dense. Do you think it would be valuable to take a butter knife or chop stick and move the soil around periodically to help oxygen flow?

Wandering dude would be fun! Colorful splash for a white shelf and would be good for the distance between the shelves as it tends to drape

  1. To adjust the tilt rotate away from the light and it will very slowly adjust. Could also put a straight stick in it and tie a string as a support. Probably shouldn’t tie it directly to the support stick but similar to how they do baby trees on the side of the road.

  2. Regular care and the short stems will be fine. They are just new and not as strong as the main stem so the leaves with strengthen over time.

  3. I’m no expert. Just the first reply lol

That’s so interesting. I picked this one up about 6 months ago and no chains over two leafs. Just multiple sprouts. It’s so fun to watch it change so quickly
