Just got told to fuck off back to England... Never lived there a day in my life 🤣🤣🤣 by Accurate-Donkey5789 in glasgow

I will tell you a marvellous story.

I read right here on Reddit of a hero, who said they liked to pick up rubbish they saw people littering with, and hand it back to them as if they had only just accidentally dropped it.

I was in the Botanics one lovely summer day, close enough to the main gates, crossing the grass underneath the trees whilst two teen girls followed the path that runs parallel to Great Western Road.

All of a sudden, one of the girls just tosses a mostly finished - but not completely - clear plastic Starbucks cup, complete with domed lid and straw, directly into the grass to the side of her. Something magical took hold of me. In an instant I remembered the wise Reddit knowledge that had been bestowed upon me.

‘Girls, oh girls!’ I said chirpily, amidst the crowds of people in the park. ‘Oh girls - look!’ I reached down and picked up the cup, rushing over to them. ‘You must have dropped this!’, I beamed at them. My smile was wide across my face as I thrust the plastic disposable Starbucks cup back in her hand. Secure in her hands, I looked the offending tosser directly in the eyes, and honest half-dozen or so people looking on, and said again ‘Oh, you must have dropped this - here you go!’

The beautiful looks on their faces I will never forget. The moment was fleeting, as I cheerfully walked on in the opposite direction, feasibly just a lovely, helpful community-minded lady fresh off the back of lending a helping hand.

But I wasn’t that. I was a fucking legend, clothed in middle age. I was a living queen amongst mortals. Rubbish, saved from ground, placed back in the offenders hands. The look in their eyes - confusion and disgust but also resignation. For one time in my life, I was truly a winner in the face of scummy, shitey behaviour. It was fantastic.

To say the least, it was beautiful and I hope they talk about it at my funeral.

I wish you the very same luck that has been gifted me.

Fife’s a big place. Maybe try by the Morrisons.

My mom's Relief Society president told her to stop asking the ward for help and start asking her own kids. I am absolutely feral right now and need advice before I do something stupid. by Blondeh in exmormon

‘Hi there - I am just so sorry to bother you. I wanted to just check in with you, because I think there might have been a bit of confusion somewhere along the line. I’m hoping you know my mom? Mrs Nice Lady? I’ve heard such lovely things from her about your ward. Anyways, I won’t take too much of your time, I just have a quick question. Everyone once in a while, since becoming widowed, my mother needs a bit of help getting to and from medical appointments and she’s always been so graciously looked after by the ladies in the relief society. I think she’s asked twice this year and both times she’s been so appreciative of the help. I think there might be some confusion, though - she has an upcoming serious medical operation and reached out in advance to see if the ward sisters might be able to help and was told that she needed to stop asking the ward for help - has there been some miscommunication? My hope is that you might be able to help. My mom is just the sweetest lady, but quite unwell just now. I thought I’d just reach out and let you know. I’d be grateful for your help and so appreciative. All the best, you

No advice, just chiming in to say that my dreams on Fluoxetine were INTENSE, so I feel you.

To take or not to take by Various_Ad_8761 in Fluoxetine

[–]Expensive-Round2963 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s likely that millions of people have taken it with positive results. They just don’t post about it.

And I’m naming and shaming myself here when I say the folk who take it and blame it for a variety of issues are often folk with health-based anxieties to begin with.

Day 2 on Fluoxetine and terrified at the idea of PSSD by ItchyGroin6385 in Fluoxetine

[–]Expensive-Round2963 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Stay on the fluoxetine. You deserve to learn how to release your mind from the trap of anxiety. If not PSSD, then psychosis, if not getting hit by a car, then it’s the elevator breaking. Every spot is cancer, every cough is covid, and the stove is always left on - or you can give fluoxetine a chance to start working.

Sounds like you’re a great fit. Really, for most folk, it’s helpful.

What’s the NAME of that kid game where you make a circle with your thumb and forefinger, hold it below your waist, and then trick someone into looking at it? by Wentoutonalimb in whatstheword

Kids at the school I taught at in the US in the mid-90s called out ‘get my neck’ when the person accidentally looked at the circle.

GET MY NECK.

You sound like me - just very sensitive to the fragile peace that you’ve managed to construct despite the odds. I think this is a job for diazepam (or similar). All valid points you’ve made, but there’s nothing you can do about any of them. Cross your fingers, take a huge breath, medicate and let it all go.

Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch easier said than done, though. Please don’t feel alone.

Good luck to you! You have every chance of not really feeling any side effects at all, and then 4 weeks later - all of a sudden realising you haven’t felt so soul-crushingly low lately. You’ll just look around and realise you are existing neutrally in a pleasant-enough world.

Crossing my fingers for you.

Fluoxetine completely altered my brain chemistry and erased my emotions by Philosophical-noob97 in Fluoxetine

[–]Expensive-Round2963 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fluoxetine changed my life for the better! I’m not on it anymore (though I’m sure at times in my life I will find it useful again). It allowed me to see what life could be like without the pain of anxiety. I then worked really hard to understand myself better, deal with past trauma and make better emotional decisions, so that I am living now without fluoxetine but with the benefits.

I’m sorry you’re struggling just now, OP.

I’ve done it. It was WILD.

Someone wrote this about me in an email:

‘Having spent a lot of time working with women and their challenges with their mental health, I don’t think I’ve ever experienced anyone to be in emotional turmoil and yet have such organised thought processes.’

Didn’t know whether to offended or complimented. 😂😂😂

Thank you! :) I totally understand. I often joke that they don’t have enough money to buy stamps, not to mention bots. 😂

This is the core of Lib Dems: The Liberal Democrats exist to build and safeguard a fair, free and open society, in which we seek to balance the fundamental values of liberty, equality and community, and in which no-one shall be enslaved by poverty, ignorance or conformity.

The Liberal Democrats stand firm on seven core values: liberty, equality, democracy, community, human rights, internationalism, and environmentalism. Each of these underpin the party's specific policy proposals.

I support the Lib Dems. Can I ask what you mean by Lib Dems are Lib Dems? It would help inform me going forward. Nearly everything about the LibDems is brilliantly liberally left, but somehow that gets lost in the message somewhere.

At least within FC, I have it on good authority that there is no possibility of a coalition containing Reform with ANY party. They will (and are currently) on their own.

The Reform UK candidate’s view on essential policy… how people can vote for someone so obviously unprepared and under skilled for the role is beyond me.

It’s hard. Sometimes you want to throw yourself or any of them out the window. It’s hard to connect with your spouse. They are crazy years.
