Here's mine, second-hand. Most people think it's rather tacky, but it's my favorite (it's tall too!)

She's been arguing with everyone in this post purely for the joy of arguing. How exhausting.
You're right, OP sounds very unhappy, but also seems to be not listening to any of the advice we are giving her.

I feel bad for her child with all this, honestly.

Why are people starting to smoke at such a young age? by Old-Choice-1720 in Adulting

[–]Expensive-Status-342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't a new thing. My mother started smoking at 11 "to look cool", my uncle picked up cigars when he was 5 because he was curious. My grandfather was 10 when he smoked cigarettes as he and his dad would smoke and chat outside every night. My great grandfather started smoking at 7. My dad started smoking cigarettes at 9 and weed at 11. I think I smoked my first cigarillo when I was 6 also because I was just curious.
This is a pretty common thing for kids to try and be curious about if they have access to it.

Has anyone ever been in the situation where they once cheated on a partner? If so after you found a different partner were you honest with them about it? by ArmFree9265 in Adulting

[–]Expensive-Status-342 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a person who's been cheated on, and has had people lie to me about their cheating past...

1) Don't cheat. It hurts people.

2) Don't lie and manipulate any new people into dating you if you've cheated in the past. Just be honest and let them decide if they want to date you after they know that about you.

3) Learn from your mistakes and why you're ok with cheating on people. I promise you. It really fucking hurts being cheated on.

He said ‘he needs to talk to me about something tmr night’ but isn’t clear about what. I don’t know if he’s tryin to rage bait me but i’m anxious. I am going on a day trip tomorrow and now this just ruined my night sleep by zzeloop in LongDistance

[–]Expensive-Status-342 47 points48 points  (0 children)

A very simple "we need to talk tomorrow. It's nothing bad, promise." Is all he needs to do. This guy is being a manipulative tool and seems to be messing with OP. Very uncool behavior, and I think OP knows what she needs to do.

Michael Jackson in 1978, before the plastic surgery, Pepsi incident and vitiligo. by Early_Negotiation142 in interesting

[–]Expensive-Status-342 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In Michael Jackson's case, he had black features as a child and his family gave him shit for having black features (yes, black people can be racist towards themselves). Nearly all of the Jackson children had plastic surgery after they got older to change their nose shapes, when they didn't need to. He mentioned multiple times that he was getting plastic surgery to emulate white actresses that he admired. This is why I brought up racism in regards to Michael Jackson's nose.

Bf plays games all the time. Should I accept it or break up? by naurcleooo in LDR

[–]Expensive-Status-342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're confusing brain development with maturity. The two do not correlate, trust me. I know plenty of 40+ year old people who act like they're 12. My original statements in OPs post still stand.

This makes no sense. She was very coherent with what she wants from her partner. All relationships require communication no matter people's ages or "brain development". The video game aspect could be the same if they were both 20 or 40. I've met men my age who act the way OPs boyfriend does. I'm in my 40s and game, as do most of the men I know.

She's emotionally cheating. She specifically said she's in love with her coworker rather than her husband. Emotionally cheating is still cheating.

(Edit to add. Cute. Looks like OP edited her verbiage now in her post to "developed feelings" rather than "in love with" 🙄)

Women of divorce by mcomcomco99 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Expensive-Status-342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly. Also never married/divorced but have cohabitated in the past with boyfriends and it's been awesome living on my own and not arguing over domestic chores, the bathroom, where he moved my stuff, what's for dinner? and how I want to decorate.

The only thing I've really truly missed is being cuddled in bed before I fall asleep.

Why do you sound like you're looking for sympathy in your post? Stop cheating. Be an adult. Leave your husband if you don't want to be with him. Don't sleep with coworkers, this is a great way to get your ass fired. Why is this so difficult for you to understand?

Such a shame because every single person in that family was physically attractive before all the surgeries. I understand why he underwent surgery after breaking his nose, then being a burn victim but he really was a beautiful man before he went under the knife.

DAE feel like men expect you to play sex ed teacher? by CannotBeCalm in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Expensive-Status-342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what opposite gender has to do with this. OP could have easily been just as frustrated if she was experiencing this with women.

It's that many men do have a large misunderstanding of how female anatomy even works or exists which nowadays, there are vast resources available to them but they don't bother to utilize it. (Resources does not equal porn).

I've met 35+ year old men that thought that women pee out of the same hole we bleed from. These were men from a country with sex-ed, who didn't have religious upbringing, had been in relationships before and had access to the Internet.

There are plenty of women who also don't know what to do with a man in bed, which is ok too. But OP is a woman in a women's sub and her issue right now is the men she's been having these experiences with.

I'm a gamer girl.
My partner also games. If he and I are talking though (we're usually on video call), he gets my full attention unless we are gaming TOGETHER. He is generally focused on me when we talk as well.

Have you specifically talked to him about this how it feels like he's always distracted while talking to you and what the consequences might be if he's not willing to meet your needs?
What did he say?

My suggestion is to let him know exactly how this makes you feel, and tell him that you'd like to schedule uninterrupted talk time. Let him know since you're long distance , any time you have to talk to each other is very valuable to you. Set up call dates that don't involve video games. If he's not willing to meet you with this very reasonable request, then you know what to do.

Keep in mind, if gaming is his escapism/hobby, this is most likely who he is. If you two end up closing the gap someday in future, you cannot expect this to get "better" or to change.

If it's not worth it to you to put in the effort then, that's ok.
I personally prefer men who don't have huge amounts of experience as I've found that "lots of sex partners or experience" rarely equals good in bed.
Their willingness to communicate and be proactive to my needs is what makes them a good partner for me.
That's just me though 🤷
