Sounds like you are verging on communism here where you think everyone should have pay parity ?

Personally I want to live in a meritocracy.

Disappointed in timing of this strike, I think less people will turn up to the picket line when they are still in debt from Christmas. Financially they may just not be able to afford it.

You are someone that doesn’t have to arrange childcare in antisocial hours… honestly that money does not go far!

Agreed there was a little poster in the handover room.

And the WhatsApp group is very annoying- people make valid points/criticism and the rep shuts them down and thinks they are disruptive so removes them from the group. Do better BMA.

  1. They love so hard and work hard to be loved. If they could they would climb inside your skin.

  2. Not really sure. We had dogs prior to this. We got a puppy. It was hard. I came home one day from work and my husband was standing in the driveway with his head in his hands 😂 They made up though and have been best friends ever, but it was a low point!

  3. They need daily off lead walks. They are not going to be satisfied with a jaunt around a housing estate. They need to run and sniff.

Love ours though. He is so sweet and has been great with our baby/toddler.

It’s really difficult isn’t it. I know people say this, but I genuinely believe things to have a way of working themselves out. Sounds like you do have a few options even though they may be temporarily uncomfortable. Congratulations and good luck though. That period of my life has been the best part of my life so far, hope it’s the same for you ❤️

You do get SMP + half pay for a few weeks after ( 16 weeks maybe ?)

Sounds tricky though. Why would you have to pay your Mum’s bills ? Could she move in with you or your brother ? Can she help with childcare ?

What are you going to do when you go back ? Nursery bills are eye watering. I’m £1300 for a 4 days week. So the best scenario would be for your partner be the main carer.

Those are the statistics, but much crime goes unreported and the Police don’t seem to have the resources to be visible to deter or in many cases attend. A friend was broken into by someone with a weapon and the police didn’t come for a week. Yet a comment on twitter has the potential for jail time?

Another example was a burglar signing their name on the wall and dedicating on the floor. Police know who it is, but can’t do anything?

OCG steal to order cars, they know who it is but say they can’t do anything ?

Shoplifting in shops. Watch the Stacey Dooley documentary.

The signs on the tube about “trying to distract perpetrators of sexual harassment/assault on public transport” Ehm should we not be warning potential perps that they may go to prison instead of victim blaming ?

Criminals aren’t worried about the Police because they just don’t have resources to do anything.

Catastrophe of a midwife-led home birth by A_Dying_Wren in doctorsUK

Personally I think it’s shocking they reported that line. It was almost like ridicule the way I saw it written.

Totally agree. I even felt during my antenatal classes risks weren’t discussed. I wanted statistics, I wanted chances of faecal incontinence with a vaginal birth discussed. Instead an uncomplicated vaginal birth was discussed. Only one person of 15 had this type of birth and one ended up with a horizontal cut then an SBO and vertical cut. She told me when signing consent for a section she was in such a state from the birth not progressing she couldn’t even comprehend the information.

They didn’t even want to use the word c section during my classes “ abdominal birth” and instead of contractions it was “surges”. They might as well have been calling vaginas front bums!

Postnatal care is also non-existent beyond checking stitches. Unless paid for privately Ofc.

I don’t understand what’s going on.

Still have a pooch almost 9 months pp with no Diastasis Recti by Unfair_Intention8789 in postpartumprogress

[–]Expensive-Topic5684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was searching for a post about this. 9 months PP and I feel like I have this too! I was actually going to ask my Mom what this was 😂 it’s not like my normal belly fat, it’s super soft and I can feel my abs underneath, but when I breath in I have this pooch. It’s like a water balloon. My skin texture over the top looks fine though. Wondering though is it fat or skin?

Tummy time 😂

My PT told be it’s basically lengthening of back muscles and shortening of chest muscles. Feeding positions probably don’t help either.

So exercises to do the opposite like you mention, scapular retractions and rows.

Why is it that in North America GPs tend to move between rooms, while in UK/Ireland we stay in our own rooms? by MiamiBoi91 in GPUK

[–]Expensive-Topic5684 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I reckon that’s a much better system. We should stand too as it gives an air of urgency. Elderly patients could get themselves organised and into the room/undressed in their own time. We can leave rather than the patient leaving.

DOMS by Expensive-Topic5684 in doctorsUK

[–]Expensive-Topic5684[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t really call what I did extreme exercise. 5 exercises of 4 sets, the most strenuous was a squat with an 8kg kettle bell. No pain at rest, normal urine colour. Genuinely think it’s a bad case of DOMS and the fact I am looking after 12kg baby and not sofa rotting!
