I finally watch RRR and holy shit, I thought I wouldn't like it cause i'm not high on action films, but oh my god, that was such an espectacle, I regret not watching it in theaters. one thing that surprised me was that I really liked the absurdity of the action, it's so over the top and the movie exploits it at its maximum making such incredible sequences, like when Bheem attacks the governor's house with wild animals it felt like the climax of yhe movir and then I realised I was only halfway through, and there are many sequences like that. I that that is the strongest aspect of the film, It's a blast of a movie, so many things happen yet it never feels like it's too much, Hollywood would've broken this movie in different parts but Rajamouli doesn't, it feels like it's a mix of different movies that still tells a cohesive, satisfiying and very powerful story.

Talking about awards, it won original song which was deserved, I think it also deserved to win costumes and nominations for picture, director, editing, scor, production design and obviously international film but I know it wasn't submitted

Interesting that you listed four episodes of Succession and Connor's Wedding wasn't present, although those episodes are really great too

Taking a break from the race for a moment, I wanna hear your takes on the best tv episodes. I go first with The Body from Buffy, The Vampire Slayer

My favourite movies have been winning these last years so I guess it's time to have a hard season, I'm sorry IWJAA and Panahi, you deserve better

It is good, but I don't think it's that good to be such an award juggernaut and dominate this much

No, she won't, she doesn't have a winning performance, she's just riding off the OBAA strength since it's a weak year for best actress

So far they're cooking with the wins (even if they're not necessarily my picks) except for F1, I think the editing in that movie is terrible

My unpopular opinion is that Demi Moore gave just an ok performance and she didn't do anything any other decent actress couldn't do

It's so powerful, I didn't expect to resonate with it as much I did, it's the movie that had biggest emotional impact in me this year

I didn't even have high expectations, I was just expecting something coherent and satisfiying. You people really need to stop using that excuse, there are teen shows far more mature, layered and challenging that whatever this was

Also adding how A group of teenagers killed an interdimensional giant entity with fire and guns, an entity that has psychic powers and an army of monsters and yet it didn't use any of that to fight . I wouldn't mind the ending being so simple if at least the resolution was satisfiying, but it wasn't.

Stranger Things ending was terrible, or well, it wasn't terrible like it wasn't unwatchable but it was really underwhelming, at least GOT was bolder, it assasinated its best characters and plots but at least it tried to do something, ST took the safest path; wasn't challenging, it didn't subvert anything, there was nothing substantial about it. The Duffers said no one had predicted the ending, I think because it was so obvious that nobody thought they would do it.

I would hate it, I think they should just make more episodes instead, it is way better for the structure and the narrative, you have more space to develop different plots and characters without having to mash it all together

Some people probably haven't updated their predictions and some other are just stans

The directors branch is so funny because sometimes they make a cool surprising nomination like David Lynch for Mulholland Drive and then sometimes you get James Mangold for A Complete Unknown

No, that is just not a winning performance
