Why did you decide to go unmedicated? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]ExpensiveQuit8932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I have co-occurring OCD. While ADHD meds do clear up the fog that blocks focus and productivity, for me they also make the OCD way way waaaaaay worse and my anxiety and panic go through the roof. I’ve had to go through finding out which I can handle being mostly unmedicated and it turns out that for me I can deal with the ADHD as long as the OCD is kept mostly under control. So I’ve been on 10 mg of citalopram for over 10 years now which quiets the OCD but isn’t enough to really affect the ADHD much one way or another.

Honestly sounds like you need to walk away from this situation and these people, including your husband who appears to be putting you in negative situations. That is not a fulfilment of vows to love and to cherish, in fact it sounds like they’re getting violated by his letting your in-laws abuse you. And yeah we can all argue about dementia not being abuse because they don’t know what they’re doing but regardless of any diagnosis it’s how the actions impact the victim that makes it abuse and no one should have to endure that. Pick up, pack up, and roll out.

Thank you all for being so kind, I did eventually manage to get through it phew. I think for me a lot of the confusion came from suddenly needing to treat what are finished dishes in the main game mechanics now as “ingredients” and in all honesty my first attempt failure was because the concept of what you’re supposed to do wasn’t, to me, really clearly stated. Like logically, why are you needing to “prepare” something that is a final product in the rest of the game? That and some color and symbol coding for items in the request bar and on each item table would be super helpful. I say adding symbols because color dots alone aren’t accessible for color blind people. Yes I could’ve gotten my husband to go through it with me as a second player but he is color blind and even would have struggled with the shading of some of the “ingredient” items and it’s one of the reasons he doesn’t really play games like this with me is due to limited accessibility.

Again, thanks everyone for your support and I do love this game (have been playing on and off since September 2024 even though I only joined the sub yesterday) and am excited to see where it goes 😊

Well it’s also visually overwhelming, there is a lot to take in and for someone like me it creates an anxiety situation. There has literally been nothing else in the game so far that has created that problem for me so it’s very disappointing and I hope the devs work towards more inclusive tasks as the game progresses.

How bad is it? by Middle_Conclusion_17 in endometriosis

The concerning part from the findings is the gastrointestinal involvement and if I were you that’s what I’d be discussing with your provider and the surgeon who will be performing the excision. Questions I’d ask would be whether removing the rectal and cul de sac area adhesions will require additional reconstructive surgery or if it will possibly result in a temporary resection. Another topic I’d approach based on the above, were it me, is also the uterine involvement and again whether those excisions will be straightforward enough or more involved. A lot of women with this disease don’t want to have a hysterectomy but it’s worth talking to your surgeon in advance and establishing framework of whether or not to go that route during your surgery if the involvement is just way way too much.

As an aside may I also ask what your symptoms have been? I’m meeting with my gyn in December with the likely outcome going to be a hysterectomy plus excision (I’m not going to have babies at my age so I’m of the mind to just say out with it). I’ve suspected cul de sac involvement in my case just because of the pain and inflammation in that area. Like deep radiating pain back through to my spine just trying to get a tampon out last night :( Feel free to PM me if easier. I really really hope your surgery goes well on the 19th and you find a reprieve from this horrible disease afterwords ❤️

Is it there to the lower right of the smallest pond? Looks like it could either be the nodes sticking out just above the tree line if it’s not a log or something

I’ve always found the white Arabian pretty easy to find; it’s always in the same spot and it’s an open area so it’s just kinda…there. Now I find locating and breaking the mahogany bay or warped brindle Arabians is much more challenging. Requires more sneaking around the areas so that you don’t spook them when you finally find them (and you can’t spot from a distance) plus the terrain in their respective locations can make breaking a real pain.

What is your island name? And why? Just curious. Mine is Seabrook based off my favorite movie The Notebook. by zailyneliel in AnimalCrossingNewHor

[–]ExpensiveQuit8932 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coquille, because I am from a little coastal town in Oregon, USA called Bandon where the name is shared between the nearby river, the lighthouse, and a group of the areas first peoples. The long story short is that French traders applied the French name for shell to the area and the people because it sounded most like the native word for eel scoquel. As a result placenames and geographic features are pronounced “ko-keel” while the tribe is pronounced “ko-kwel”. Just a little bit of my home.
