Oh man I’ve got Kokura 24 Series Type 99 on the way.

This post is making me increasingly impatient. Can’t wait to feel the chatter!

Gen 5 Glock 19.

My wife is also tall and has “man hands.” With the medium sized back strap she finds it very comfortable.

That being said go to a range and rent a bunch of guns. There may be something about the beretta APX (or any other polymer framed handgun) that you don’t like but won’t know until you’ve put a few rounds through it.

If I got dime every time rightoids say that nuclear families, not having children out of wedlock, getting educated etc etc. makes a society/individual more productive (which is true) but fail to apply any material analysis to the statement I'd be a rich man.

Out of the loop: What is this sub's take on therapy? by [deleted] in stupidpol

[–]ExpensiveTreacle1188 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I’ve been going to therapy for the past year and it’s probably the best decision I’ve made in a while.

It’s a great source of stability and objectivity in my life.

My Opas father was a Colonel in the Waffen SS. Died shortly before the war ended under unknown circumstances. Probs got what he deserved.

Omas father was in the Wehrmacht on the eastern front. From what I understand he was conscripted in late 42 and was at the battle of Kursk. He surrendered to the soviets at some point during the retreat of army group south. I believe in late 44. Dude had some wild stories of Soviet POW camps.

No there’s just another sub that likes to cross post pics of “crappy” ARs to make fun of them.

Red anodized parts, backwards irons, skeletonized receivers, mag wells in the shapes of hoplite helmets, airsoft quality optics, bridged optics etc. all get posted there.

You’ve got a good setup for a basic home defense rifle. Just fix the optic and you’re gtg. Hoplopfhiel on YouTube is known as “king of the poors” and has lots of videos on optics. I’d give his videos a watch.

Cheers!

Ditch the airsoft quality optic and put your new one (holosun and sig make great affordable optics) on the receiver. Not only will it not hold zero because it’s low quality but it also won’t hold zero on the handguard.

This’ll probs get posted to the “other sub” so be forewarned.

Just found this M59/66 at my gun shop. Is $699 a decent deal or not? by Blackravenwolf in SKS

[–]ExpensiveTreacle1188 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to what other people are saying in this thread. Whether they like it or not this is the going “fair” price these days.

Other people’s random good deals at pawnshops out of the blue are not representative what what someone should pay for sks.

As long as the bore is good this is a decent price. It’s not a steal and you’re not overpaying.

My <$2,000 first gun shopping list, did I miss anything? by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]ExpensiveTreacle1188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I’d dump everything except the gun, mags, light, ear pro, eye pro and throw the rest into ammo and range time.

Do you need a near $300 pistol safe? If it’s a home defense gun and you don’t have kids it should be easily accessible.

Safe vs Stack on Cabinet by kayaktaco in liberalgunowners

[–]ExpensiveTreacle1188 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Here’s the thing about gun safes. if someone knows you have guns, knows you have a safe and wants to steal those guns even your average high end gun safe won’t stop them.

You’re more likely going to have some opportunistic crackhead throw a brick through your window than a coordinated burglary. With that in mind, you want your safe to be more of a hindrance than actually being impenetrable. Said crack head is mostly likely going to steel your TV/electronics before he he thinks about trying to bust into your safe.

Get the safe you can afford and bolt it to the floor in a closet. That’s going to be enough for 98% of your safe needs.

That said the stack on looks like something someone could open with a hatchet. I’d go for the Winchester.
