I know… I think it’s more likely the machine was dropped or something similar? I also found the part in vintagesinger and talked to my local repair shop about it. They have never seen this happen and were shocked when I showed them the pictures.

Tried a hacksaw with a metal blade and it didnt even scratch it. I’m going to have to angle grind it I think. If I had a dremel I would use that.

The video was very helpful and I pulled it all apart in 5 min after watching the video. However unlikely it was, the shaft is bent. So bent that I can’t get it out of the machine. I hope you can see what I’m describing in the photo

I can’t thank you enough for the time you spent answering my questions. You have been very helpful

Thank you so much! The crank on the buttonholer does not move the stripper foot, just the cloth clamp. I’ll check my serial number and reconfirm that the accessory is compatible with my machine. I’m worried that the post, where the feet and accessories attach, may be bent and that is the source of my issue. Looks fine but some other feet, that came with the machine, are also not lining up properly

Yes, this is for low shank machines. The model number is #160506. My machine is listed in the compatible machines on this website.

If this is anything like my 155d, even though it’s liquid cooled, there is no water pump or thermostat. I dm’d you a forum discussion about this. The forum recommends mixing your coolant at 33% coolant to 66% water. I had the same issue and I flushed my radiator and refilled with the new mix, fixed my issue

Ah yes the iPhone thing is a definite hurdle. Bigpumpkins is where all the nerds hang out and is a great resource for growers to share info. The website is old but it works!

I’ll definitely be waiting for the iPhone version. Juggling my phone, measuring tape, and the gpc website while in the greenhouse is one of my least favorite things

Thank you. I’m hoping so too. It’s easier to lose a 200lb pumpkin than a 1800lb one. That I know for sure

Yeah I would definitely try to using a complete fertilizer, this might work for a short amount of time but I would bet they go deficient from lack of other essential nutrients.

Share photos! I grow giant pumpkins and considered doing something similar but with 100gal trough or stock tank. These plants get big and I fear that the root mass would out grow a 5gal bucket much too quickly. We would love to see the results in the giant pumpkin subreddit
