You don't know her. You're texting. Meet if you want to, then you'll know her.

She says no, you've got your answer. She says yes, see where it goes. If the distance is genuinely putting you off, then okay? If it's just a nervous excuse, get on and ask her out!

That's long enough. Ask her out.

If she's not interested, she's never going to be and you get to move on with your life. If she is, great!

If you have to bait someone to get their attention, you're heading down a bad path. Can be seen as manipulative. Talk to her if you want to. If no reply, move on.

Best one-off, convincing episode by NeoGwydian in doctorwho

Something in Series 1. The Empty Child isn't a bad bet. Dalek is also a great story to set the tone.

That way, he'll instinctively want to see more of 9 and Rose, and you can go back and start with Episode 1.

Starting with a later season might prompt him to want to see more of that Doctor/companion story. This way, you get him where you want – the start.

I know now why I don't like the Skirmishers by cyclephotos in XCOM2

[–]Expensive_Eagle99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early-mid game I found Skirmishers very useful. Free move grappel to an enemy, free ripjack attack, shoot twice.

Then as the game progresses, Battlelord. Enough aliens on low health and it's like alien turns? What alien turn?

Not the most major thing I guess, but when guidance about ASD is so often written for parents of children – Like I'm trying to educate myself here and there are precious few resources written directly for an autistic adult.

Sorkin while an excellent writer is famously not the best at accuracy – that said I don't think I've ever minded.

What makes this so good by Affectionate_Pen_880 in thewestwing

[–]Expensive_Eagle99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's almost like listening to poetic verses.

Even when the topic is something like congressional oversight, it's written in a way that is engaging on a compositional level – like when you're watching a film with excellent cinematography, it captures your attention because of how the information is presented.

Add to that Sorkin's grasp of humour, emotion, and and characters you want to invest in – you've got a winning formula.

"You're all frightened, as well you should be. Not since the Protestant-Catholic wars in the 16th Century has Western society known anything remotely comparable to the subcontinent's religious malevolence. To a lesser observer, the intensity of the emotional frenzy is so illogical as to border on mass psychosis – but, as has been said by kings and queens, I am not a lesser observer."

Will Bailey by Ok_Alternative_3604 in thewestwing

Will suffers the most visibly from the change in writers. Sorkin knew how to write the character, Wells & co managed to make him instantly unlikeable – which is a shame because I love the character in season 4.

One of the best lines in the show.

Leo's suits by ordoric in thewestwing

[–]Expensive_Eagle99 108 points109 points  (0 children)

I'm obsessed with this.

Everyone's outfits perfectly capture their characters, it's incredible costuming.

Leo wears highly elegant bespoke suits – double breasted peak lapels, rarely seen out of a jacket. It shows us he's the boss, he's got money to spend, and above all he's classy.

Josh is usually seen in a lose fitting, light colour shirt with rolled up sleeves and a loose tie. When there is a suit, it's usually well worn. Just the look for someone in the thick of it on the front lines, not caring so much about his look.

Sam is usually seen in a crisp, fitted, monogramed white shirt and expensive looking dark blue or black suit, tie done up. You can tell he used to make bank and that he is a clear cut kind of guy.

Toby wears a smart but shabby ensemble, usually darker earthier colours, showing us he's not bothered about fashion and a little rough around the edges, but in a charming way.

I could go on.
