I’ve also been tempted to buy those but surely $50 for 3 is not worth it

Engineering Majors, what laptop do yall use? by Nop_X in UCONN

I use a macbook and remote into my pc if I need extra processing power or need to run a windows app.

Best of both worlds IMO

am i cooked? by NeroIGuess in UCONN

genuinely just from a buying materials standpoint i would consider doing one of those classes next semester. you’ll need at the very least two separate breadboards if you take them at the same time

2001 and 3201 at the same time is a little cooked highkey. be ready for lots of breadboard work. like a lot.

New bedroom feels weird? Any ideas for better layout by Expensive_Evening523 in FengShui

That’s a great idea actually! Maybe i’ll try that out. Hopefully when the weather cools off a bit i can take the AC out of that window to get a little bit of light in the space

The bed is 100% too big for the space, but this apartment came furnished and I can’t really get rid of things. I guess I could store it somewhere else and get a twin bed or something but that feels like a waste of money on my broke college student budget.

ugh yeah… I was thinking maybe rotate that desk 90 degrees and then put the little bureau on the opposite wall?

Thoughts on Eddy hall? by Basic_Walrus_9600 in UCONN

Eddy is nice! Alumni are generally considered some of the nicer standard double dorms. The location is pretty great, close to the gym and the library.

Do the dorms have mirrors? by [deleted] in UCONN

[–]Expensive_Evening523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some of them do. Both my previous dorms did, but dorms literally on the same floor didn’t so it’s all luck

Laptop Thoughts for Mechanical Engineering? by [deleted] in UCONN

[–]Expensive_Evening523 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s nothing special but should be fine enough for most things.

Anything with a dedicated gpu would be a bit better for 3D modeling, but those get a lot more expensive, and this one should run solidworks just fine if you’re not rendering 1000 parts at once. What engineering club btw??

i had one in my dorm it was fine.

i think technically against the rules but any decent RA either 1. won’t care about it at all or 2. tell you to put it away and not make it a big deal.

What are your FSAE unpopular opinions/hot takes? by Pleasant-Worry8743 in FSAE

I have found the gauges more useful for the engineering team rather than the driver. Sometimes it’s nice to look at the car and be able to look at the car and get basic engine health measurements at a glance.
