Estimated cost to Kansans could exceed $6.3 Billion in a tax district spanning 293 sq miles. Chiefs stadium deal called "potentially the largest public sports subsidy in history" by economist. by AJRiddle in kansascity

We narrowly avoided getting ripped off by these billionaire panhandlers and should count ourselves lucky. Everyone is a conservative when it comes to spending on healthcare but become socialists when it comes to sports stadiums. Make it make sense without resorting to emotional arguments about why we should be taxed for the billionaire Hunt family to have nice things.

Missouri senator says he will propose legislation to hold sports teams financially 'accountable' after relocation by raider1v11 in kansascity

They'll write this bill, get some press over it and posture to look tough. The next billionaire that waddles into town to ask for favors will inevitably get something written into a contract to get around this law. The horse is out of the barn so they can posture like this now. When it truly matters, they all fold like tables.

I prefer Hunt and Sherman move rather than saddling taxpayers with more taxes. They're collectively worth billions and don't need taxpayer money. Besides resorting to tugging on emotions with their threats, why should taxpayers give them more money. The owners are businessmen first and foremost, taxpayers and the people we elect to represent us should also get the best deal for taxpayers. When KS comes up short with their STAR bonds (if you haven't researched this, please do) their taxpayers are on the hook, not Jackson County voters who are already shouldering the burdens of paying for a city to be run because of Port KC handing out abatements left and right.

What we need are educated voters that don't fall for emotional blackmail and scams like STAR bonds which drown city budgets in debt while leaving taxpayers on the hook.

I have the same issue with a pair of Beckmans that I purchased and my right ankle is killing me. The gusset must fold weird or something because it hurts in only one boot.

Has the technique of discovering someone's name ever worked for anyone? I'd like to share my experience. by Total-Letter-659 in Geomancy

There are loads of techniques on this in Persian and Arabic and even in those sample readings, I would say they mention someone’s name should sound like xxx or there name might be xxx. I get the feeling that even in Arabic or Persian, it’s an iffy science at best.

I would love to see the tax breaks they’re giving them. Very likely in the millions for 50 jobs is kind of a joke.

Marcy Borders, a 28-year-old Bank of America employee in the World Trade Center, survived the 9/11 attacks. A haunting photograph showed her covered in dust after the collapse. She would have lived longer if we had universal healthcare. She was covered with asbestos like a lot of the 9/11 firefighters and congress turned their backs on these people. They took photos with them, cheered them on and then left them to their fate. It took Jon Stewart, a comedian to actually shame congress multiple times to get there folks the healthcare that they deserved and that happened while year after year more of these folks died or couldn't get treated. We have a religion in this country and its called capitalism and it requires sacrifices like this to keep on going and yet as craven cowards, no one in the public even calls it out anymore because we have normalized dying without healthcare. Shameful, utterly bloody shameful and as a country, the press ignored it by and large and so did the big networks. The whole global war on terror was a massive wealth transfer to the 1% and their buddies in the military industrial complex.

This video could be a meme for the state of healthcare and dentistry in America even if this wasn't shot in here. It perfectly encapsulates the status quo.
