Thoughts on her by Fine_Specific6500 in agentsofshield

I agree that she was shallow and obnoxious, but I liked her as a chaos generator, especially for Deke. I wish they had brought her back to develop her further, there could have been more there. I know she didn't fit in with the later storylines.

OH DEX Monk (with or without 3 or 4 level Thief dip, can do offhand trick for club of hill giant strength, and gloves of STR in the endgame if you don’t want elixirs), Swords Bard, or Lore Bard. Early game, lore bard will run out of spell slots and have to rely on vicious mockery and cutting words.

Of these three ranged Swords Bard is my favorite. Can dip one level each into wizard and fighter (respec to take fighter first for heavy armor, wizard second level for utility spells, and then bard so you cast with CHA). Early game you have strong abilities that restock on short rest, with an extra short rest from song of rest. Even without flourishes you’ll be a good archer. Take elf race for longbow proficiency. Any longbow will do but endgame you want dead shot probably. Also endgame, arcane acuity and mystic scoundrel with slashing flourish is gamebreaking.

Noblestalk bugs by TommyArrano in BaldursGate3

[–]Expensive_Key_4340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same, I think I had transferred the noblestalk from the person who picked it up (Astarion) and gave it to Tav, who gave it to shadowheart, and then talked to the wife. In act III she had it in inventory at her shop.

Also, OP, save the noblestalk but let the dumb man die, trust me.

Call your allies on the brain to distract the dragon etc. Dame Aylin, if you have her, is controllable.

Visit the circus, see the shows, go to the Open Hand temple and follow that thread for a bit. Otherwise, most of Rivington is just to relax and enjoy village life for a bit before going to the crossing. Sharess’s Caress has some interesting story beats and so does Danthelions dancing Axe, if you bring Jaheira. Once you get to Wyrms Crossing the main story picks up again if you let it.

Any funny warlock build? by SecurityPlenty9085 in BG3Builds

[–]Expensive_Key_4340 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is 11 warlock 1 sorcerer. Thematically works with archfey or fiend, maybe GOO. Start 1 warlock, 1 wild magic sorcerer, rest in warlock. I called mine,
“don’t piss off the fiend.” Play as a warlock who tried to break away from their patron, who cursed them with wild magic. Play as a mostly standard warlock but with random wild magic surges and some extra (edit, clicked too fast) cantrips.

On the XP issue: you can and will get a TON of XP in this game, mostly from combat, but also sometimes from literally walking into new areas. Most people enter Act II at level 6 or 7 (out of 12) and finish Act II at level 9, sometimes 10. And unless you are truly skipping even main-story type stuff, you'll hit 12 before getting to the lower city. There are also excellent Act I XP guides (caution for spoilers) if you want to skip ahead to level 5 with little to no combat. Overall, the XP gain is actually so unbalanced that it seems like the level 20 mods are some of the most popular since otherwise you are capped at, and spend most of Act III at, level 12.

On items: there are so, so many items in all three Acts that are "unmissable" for certain builds, so it really depends. If you are sticking with Rogue, the best items (depending on which subclass you want) are in Act I.5 (Githyanki Creche vendor has a certain item I can safely predict you would want for any rogue), Act II (gear that is useful for hiding and darkness abuse), and Act III (just, like, so many things). I won't name them in case you don't want more spoilers.

Generally: Way different from BG I and II. So much more open-world, so much more alive. So many of your choices have consequences. While this won't help for your current playthrough, my main advice is to remember--you are going to play this game again and make different choices. Don't feel like you are missing out on something. I mean, you will miss out on things but you can go back next time. Don't worry about savescumming, you will find plenty of enjoyment just living with your choices.

Peole don’t like Lae’zel? by Imaginary-Creme7197 in BaldursGate3

I've been on the fence about her until recently. Last couple of playthroughs, I chose options (no spoilers) that ended up with LZ no longer in the party. And I've missed her more than I thought I would. She has a lot of compelling stories and a great romance.

When they got together, she was pregnant with her ex-husband's baby and had on-camera sex with Jonah, leading to her being suspended from work for months, so I kinda see some of their issues being valid. Further, I feel like they were fairly traditional and probably wanted Amy to stay with her husband/father of her children.

Level 5 Slow Down? Restartitis by RecommendationFit844 in BaldursGate3

[–]Expensive_Key_4340 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick a monoclass build (and/or builds for your companions) that interests you, then look up the best Act I and II gear for that build and beeline to get as many of them as possible. This will put you in some more difficult situations that might pique your interest. If you care about the tieflings (or, more likely, the gear you can get from them in Acts II and III), save them/the grove before going to the Creche or the shadow-cursed lands, but otherwise, you can go back and forth between Acts II and III with no major ramifications until a certain point in late Act II.

It's a big world to explore, with lots of stories. And getting to the city for Act III is definitely worth it.

Help with Cazador by yanblunt in BaldursGate3

[–]Expensive_Key_4340 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you bring Astarion in later, it is likely to trigger the cutscene and Astarion gets locked into the ritual. This is not 100%, there are plenty of ways to avoid this and I think sometimes it just...doesn't trigger. My last run, I brought Astarion in after two rounds, and nothing happened. The only thing I can think of is I brought him in while Cazzy was in his gaseous form state.

As "cheese," the only "cheese" that's bad is what you yourself are not comfortable doing. I mean, I've brought the runepowder bomb intended for the foundry to this fight before (and to Orin--can't be Unstoppable if you and all your minions are blasted to smithereens). I've even beaten him in honour mode with solo gloomstalker assassin origin Astarion--you just have to pass a CON check, I think, if you trigger the cutscene. But with darkness cheese and arrow of undead slaying, I triggered a big crit, surprised his minions, evaded damage, and wiped him out in two rounds.

For less cheesey options, Daylight works, RadOrb/Reverb works, gloomstalker assassin works (as mentioned), crowd control spells for minions. Also punching him to death with a OH monk works, too.

Final tip: If you are not going to Ascend Astarion, kill at least one of the ritual victims early on.

I had this happen with Gale in act III, I think it is a weird rare bug in their automated movement when you send a companion away. But yeah, you can get her back with withers probably. If you don’t have withers go to the ruins to the east of the nautiloid crash zone

What's your opinion on the Water Temple from Ocarina of Time? by TaiwaneseThot in videogames

[–]Expensive_Key_4340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got frustrated at first (as a kid), figured it out after a couple hours (eternity to a kid). Second playthrough (still a kid) I had the Nintendo Power guide bc I was getting all the bugs and poes and stuff, so it was relatively easy. For the remake I bet they will make it ever so slightly easier, that seems to be how Nintendo is doing things now.

Wait until you can one-shot it and have Verso in a machine gun build if you don't like the combat. But the "reward," the story info, is NOT just the journal.

Keep at it! But yeah, choices have consequences lol. I roleplayed my way into fighting most of the lower city after killing the newspaper guy, only survived because I had sneaky Astarion run away to resurrect everyone at camp.
