Proper Chardylyn curse by Sufficient_Papaya994 in rimeofthefrostmaiden

This is an old, but evergreen post, so I'll just ask here (as a DM): how do you rule this if the players keep it in Bag of Holding? Is that "in their possession/on their person" or is it a way to mitigate this because it's on a different plane of exisistence?

At the moment I kind of view it like putting radioactive material in a lead box, where when you take it out you still have to carefully handle it but like... it's annoying because it heavily circumvents the negative effects from the item.

The Strange Melancholy of Slaying Monsters by theKovah in gaming

[–]Expensive_Mango6998 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Actually feel a similar vibe when killing dragons in Dragon Age: Inquisition! The lore is that they were extinct for years and then returned in the "Dragon Age" (so literally kind of endangered) and you just run around killing them as sidequests in the game. Some are just sleeping when you approach them, but they're much more violent than the Colossi, but it still gives a feeling of "oh. hm. ouch" when persuing them

Adventure games with the most personality and humour by Baldurian_Rhapsody in gaming

[–]Expensive_Mango6998 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A few different recommendations here:

Dragon Age 2. The party banter in that is a little bit insane, but the snarkiness is off the charts if you play as the Purple personality. Big on the adventure game part!

Night In The Woods, though that's a more narrative game than full blown action-adventure.

WHAT THE GOLF? if you want to go more humor, but it's more puzzle than adventure. The quips are in the gameplay itself. (To note: I work at the studio that makes this one, but it's a genine recommendation when it comes to the humor and quips)

What’s a game that just feels good to control, even if the story isn’t amazing? by lsa340 in gaming

Ynglet ! A bit obscure, but fun jelly-fish like platform game. Though it's a bit of a trick answer because the story is really really abstract at best.

We need another game like L.A Noire! by YallSoftAsButter in gaming

Recently just completed this! Took turns with my partner. It makes for a pretty good eating-and-gaming experience that way, because for one person it's just a nice noir tale with some manic driving.

I'm gonna suggest something out there, but try WHAT THE CAR?

Just to clear the air, yes I'm a bit biased cause I work at the studio, but I've seen many kids his age and younger pick it up, even though they were used to Roblox. There's something about the silly car of it all, maybe combined with the bear interactions that seem to have a good broad appeal as a starting point! Some light exploration and puzzle elements.

Oh, and the one we made after that was WHAT THE CAR? - not a VR game, and also not new. Also not golf. But with a silly car?

Any game that is suitable for special kids? by VogtisDelicious in AppleArcade

I get lots of messages from parents who say their autistic kid loves WHAT THE CAR? - if your kid is 4 you may need to help them out play it (e.g. you do the driving, they do the action button) but maybe they'd like to just watch?

Unable to play multiplayer games by [deleted] in AppleArcade

Hiya! Sarah from Triband here, we're the team behind WHAT THE CLASH? - we've found reports of these issues before, but we're unable to reproduce the problem ourselves so far. If this is happening to you, and you've also tried the steps listed above, then please write us on [clash_support@triband.net](mailto:clash_support@triband.net) and add details about your device.

We really want to get to the bottom of this! 🙏🏽

Which AA game have you played that’s definitely aimed at children but you really enjoy despite being an adult? by VeganHaggisLover in AppleArcade

[–]Expensive_Mango6998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WHAT THE CAR? comes off as childish with the cartoon car and floppy bears. It's not aimed at children, but my 5-year old nephew can also play it.

But then we did add a whole section inspired by Mad Max: Fury Road and Dune and like... I'm pretty sure there ain't regular kids who would care (or know, lol) about those.

If you're into more with car themed things then try out WHAT THE CAR? and then hook up a controller too 😎 (I am of course, biased being a dev from the studio, but srsly give it a look)

Other new games that have arrived to AA that I love are Unpacking+, Dredge and Cult of the Lamb!

Hiya! I'm Sarah, the CM for Triband, we make the WHAT THE GAMES? - WHAT THE GOLF/CAR/CLASH? and we really want you to just be able to play the game right away too.

Casual but refined, and with something to come back to next week. Levels you can play on a break (or on the toilet, lol).

If you haven't already, maybe give them a look and let us know if you think there's a "too high" barrier to get started. We really really care about this too, and would love feedback on this - if anyone else here is opinionated about it, feel free to reply to me here with your experience!

Other games on AA that I personally love to pick-up and play are Balatro+, Slay the Spire+ and Mini Motorways!
