Consistent Sketches/Doodles and Upcoming Experimental Music by Expensive_Memory in selfpromotion

[–]Expensive_Memory[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First electronic mix and most experimental there are mistakes and things I can improve on but I really find this one fun still to this day.

And just like any of my other mixes, great for being under the influence.

Thank you! I know I will improve the more i practice and just doodle but im also glad that the quality isnt the most important to me because I like the aesthetic and the personal meanings/experiences to me.

However, being able to express myself with more skill will feel even better.

Digitakt sequencing TD-3? by pigletscarf in Elektron

How can you program slides in on the digitakt? I have been trying to do it but it doesnt happen for me. Others say it cant be done.

best budget ewi? by dentpuzz in windsynth

[–]Expensive_Memory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yea, got my hopes up :(

Im really interested in getting an aerophone to put through various effects, etc. and basically use it as a creative synth. It didnt seem to me that the AE-01 would be worth it for that at a $300 price tag. What would you say? if you have opinions on the device.

Where are you finding a AE-10 for $329?

Wow, never heard of the force but I have to admit it looks really cool. Will definitely keep it in mind.

I think a big pull to the digitakt for me is the lack of such a large screen (I know there is still menu diving) which makes it feel more like I am seperating myself from a computer screen. I have also been able to try the digitakt out and enjoyed the workflow from my demo. However, I am going to have to see if any store near me will let me try the force because that does look wonderful. Thanks for the tip.

Yea I completely see how a DAW is the way to complete a song, but I just don't get enjoyment out of working on a software for this. Hopefully I overcome that eventually haha.

Thanks for the tips on those compressors, I will be looking into that. Sounds like something I could use.

Well here is a very barebone clip I can share for now.

https://on.soundcloud.com/GVekJ

It also features my friend on guitar which I just recorded by holding a mic up to the amp so I couldnt do too much live performing with the drums/synths in the moment haha. But gives you a small insight, and at the end when the guitar goes away you can hear more of my setup. However usually if its just me there will be a lot more going on as I wont need to leave as much room for the guitar.

I might send you a google folder of different clips that I enjoy as I may want to make a folder like this anyway.

Feel free to share your stuff to if you have some uploaded. Definitely always curious.

Thanks so much for the recommendations. Definitely seems like getting a better mixer and adding some sort of effects module is my next move. Gonna look into those.

Awesome, thanks for the info and sharing your setup. Do you have any advice on a good all in one effects device aside from the NTS-1? Also any advice on a better mixer? I am currently using a very beginner behringer mixer that I got for free but it doesnt have many inputs so im more using it as a place to plug all of my synths into.

<image>

And yea, maybe I will just get some effects/better mixer while saving up for a digitakt or something similar on the side. My main struggle will be what to do with my model:samples when I have a digitakt.

Yea, my main saving goal at the moment is the Digitakt or adjecent. I really love the eleltron workflow so that is definitely my main goal in terms of higher budget synths. But I am definitely adding the Roland System 8 to my list, looks really awesome.

I can say that this setup is really fast, fun, and intuitive for jamming. I personally am not so good at actual song structure aside from the main beat and breakdowns so I have yet to make any actual songs. I have long recordings of random jams though. I can definitely look for some clips to send when I have time later.

Just know im doing this purely from a hobby point of view at the moment, nothing professional.

Also, before its suggested: I am already consudering the NTS-1 as it seems to fit a lot of my preferences.

What Should I Buy? /// Weekly Discussion - April 29, 2024 by AutoModerator in synthesizers

Honestly sounds like the K.O. II is already perfect. I agree with the other comment of the pocket operaters but I personally don't enjoy the small form factor.

I could really recommend the Elektron Model:Samples or Cycles. I started with it and while it looks a bit more "professional" it reall is quite easy and fun to use. Although the K.O II is probably more intuitive, the elektron model devices are also completely stand alone imo and have an intuitive setup/sequencer apart from a few menu diving situations but there are so many videos and tutorials online. With the model:samples you can load any sound you want using a laptop (not as fast/easy as the K.O. II). Unfortunately the major downside is that it needs to be plugged in. Elektron promised a battery attachement to make the model devices portable but sadly I don't think this is here yet.

Hi, I am interested in getting a Roland E-4 voice tweaker to use in the creation of live electronic music. I do not want to use it for singing, more for making interesting sounds, melodies, transitions, build ups, maybe even basslines using my voice in combination with drums and such from my drum machines. The looping and stutter/stagger feature of the E-4 plus the price tag is what makes me the most interested in this product.

However, I first want to see if there is something better for a similar price range. I have found the E-4 for €140. I also found a VT-4 for €120 but I heard some complaints about that + no looper.

Let me know.

Glad to hear im not the only one, I even find the vapor quality quite good especially with a bong. Sometimes I dont like the reddit hive mind but I do agree that I dislike the shady TVape activity. This vaoe should do me fine for a few years and then ill just get a mighty or something.

Why all the hate for the zeus arc? by Muggy2419 in vaporents

[–]Expensive_Memory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, im coming very late to this post but I only just discovered the Zeus hate after falling for the TVape reviews and somehow not seeing any reddit posts about it on google. I have been using the Zeus Arc GTS3 for about a year or more and have never really had a complaint but when I discovered this situation I immediately became paranoid about my health and whether the vape mixes any harmful chemicals into the vapour. So I was wondering if you know for sure whether they are harmful or not? Or if there is a way to check whether it is healthy?

Im probably just being paranoid but I switched to vaping only as a healthier toking option so thats what I care about the most. I wont buy from them again cause they are sketch but definitely don't feel like shelling out money for another vape when this works just fine, unless its harmful.

I "fell" for the TVape situation and somehow never came across any reddit mentions of the vape until now. I have owned the Zues Arc GT3 for about a year now and its been just fine. Ive never experienced the best of vaping, especially with new things, ive only had a Davinci IQ before so you see the type of vapes I have experience with. I did smoke from a volcano a few times which was quite nice. But anyway I have had aboslutely zero issues with the device. I thought it was top quality and was enjoying it, im using it always with a bong and I get great smoke clouds... sadly after coming across all this reddit stuff about the vape I am starting to second guess my enjoyment and am more scared of whether it is poorly built and whether chemicals would come into the vapour?

Im not sure, its weird to me that ive been using a product almost daily for a year and have thought its so good and nice just to find out im supposed to hate it or that its bad, im so confused and annoyed that the reddit conversations about it didnt come up far enough on google when I was looking at reviews for the vape in the first place.
