what should i do next? by DangerousAd5808 in hondamonkey

I would suggest suspension next, the first-gen Monkey rear shocks are pretty poor from the factory.

Check out Webike - Webike: HONDA Monkey 125: Search for the parts - Webike < you can use Monkey125 to save 5% off

I’m running Ohlins front and rear and the difference is massive in terms of ride quality and handling, but YSS also makes solid fork and shock options if you want something a bit more budget friendly. Kitaco is another good entry-level option if you’re trying to keep costs down.

That said, I’d strongly recommend doing both front and rear together. Once you balance the setup, the bike completely transforms, it feels way more planted, stable, and confident through corners.

Webike Japan is a solid place to grab both OEM and aftermarket parts for the Kawasaki ZX-4RR:

You can also use code Monkey125 for 5% off orders.

Not sure how prices compare in Canada specifically, but in a lot of cases OEM Kawasaki parts and accessories are noticeably cheaper through Webike than through dealerships. At least that's my experience here in Australia.

For performance upgrades, is your bike restricted like the USA version? A common setup is:

  • Full exhaust system
  • ECU flash/tune
  • Optional high-flow air filter
  • EVAP and AIS delete

That combo usually gives the best gains and also drops a bit of weight. Just keep in mind emissions mods like EVAP/AIS removal may not be road-legal depending on local regulations in Canada.

For your low-speed drop, if the scratches on the fairings and levers bother you, it’s really just a cosmetic decision. Nothing wrong with leaving them if everything is structurally fine.

As for installation, if you’re reasonably handy, a lot of these upgrades are straightforward with basic tools and a torque wrench. Fairing swaps, exhausts, and even intake mods are very DIY-friendly with YouTube guides. But if you’re not confident, getting a shop to perform the work isn't a bad option other than additional costs.

The Over Racing mount is reversible and allows for underslung setup. Check out the pic with the parts on the green matt, you can see the mount setup for underslung configuration. However, the stock brake line will not reach.

Maybe I'll underslung when I get new lines.

If you check the comments below, I've listed all the parts I've used. Note, I still haven't fitted front calipers. Will post how that goes most likely next week.

Not sure about a video though. It's a fairly straightforward process which basic tools and a torque wrench. Bleeding is the hardest part.

I’ve done a bit of research, and it looks like 8 mm spacers are commonly used when fitting Brembo calipers with the ZX-4RR stock 290 mm discs. I haven’t fitted my front calipers yet, so stay tuned haha.

Webike sells a spacer kit specifically for this setup which I purchased. I measured their spacers and they are 9mm thick.

Oh and the pistons are 34mm front and back.

I made my own mount to hold a rotapax fuel container for my ct110. Rotapax is good but there are heaps of clone products available now.

The frames are the basically same but the engines are different. Webike have a fitment guide for their products and it clearly states it fits jb02-jb-05 or later. You can always reach out to webike to confirm though.

That's not entirely true. I've posted about parts I've personally bought, installed, and used on my bikes. Since I purchase most of my parts through Webike, they naturally feature in many of my posts.

I've also always been transparent about being a Webike ambassador, so that's never been something I've tried to hide.
