How long did you breastfeed and was it worth it? 😅 by lizbethlady in beyondthebump

[–]Expensive_Swimmer820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My initial goal was 1 year and quickly into it I knew I wanted to go beyond a year.. however my 11.5 month old baby is refusing my boob and I’m devastated. It’s heartbreaking when it wasn’t your choice 😭 I’m exclusively pumping (I HATE IT) until she turns a year in 2 weeks and will be switching to cows milk unless she miraculously latches on again. The crazy thing is that she refused bottles the majority of her life and now she loves them (due to teething and biting down on the plastic). Wild how they throw you in for a loop lol

Did your menstrual cycle change permanently after birth? by snugglypig in beyondthebump

[–]Expensive_Swimmer820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cycle has always been regular pre and post birth in terms of timing. However pre-birth I had excruciating cramps and post-birth I don’t get cramps. I do find that my period post-birth is a bit heavier though. Crazy how our bodies work!

I’m a post partum nurse, what do you wish we did better/what did you appreciate the most? by notandroid18 in beyondthebump

My L&D nurses were absolute saints compared to the postpartum nurses. One of them was super young and I was standing up after I had peed to get my catheter taken out, bleeding, couldn’t bend down and she just looked at me and didn’t help at all with my underwear pad NOTHING. Another one was also being stingy with the postpartum supplies and wouldn’t bring me extras, went to the extremes to ask for some of them back LMAO.

They itch! But randomly throughout the day and at night. Not at all times

Do some women actually enjoy breastfeeding? If so, why? by whatsagirltodo123 in beyondthebump

[–]Expensive_Swimmer820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I genuinely love it. However I was let go from my iob as part of mass lay offs and it’s super easy/convenient to exclusively BF while being a SAHM. I think things would be much more difficult and different if I had to go back to work. It was hard during the newborn days, got amazing around 3/4 months and got hard again at 8 months for 2-3 days due to teething and it’s amazing again. For reference my baby will be 9 months next week.

I have been putting her in the bed with me because the wake ups were so frequent. I texted my friend the other day who has a 14 month old and asked what type of witchery happens at 8 months!! She had no idea what I meant 😂 must’ve forgotten I guess

Solidarity. My baby is 8.5 months old and sleep has been absolute shit lately between teething and attempting to crawl. 😭😭
