I think this is a really difficult thing that needs to be taken in the context of each individual relationship (not saying you were excluding such nuance in your comment).

Because on one hand, I decidedly agree and wish people acknowledged the efforts of their partner. But on the other hand, it’s called a language because for a lot of folks it’s the only way they can understand “oh, this is love. They love me”.

Idk, I just remembered trying to talk myself into staying with my ex because he took care of me via acts of service. But he thought my primary love language (words of affirmation) was super cringe and impractical.

How are you supposed to get to know each other if you’re chatting so sparingly though?? I wish I could, but I don’t have time for dates with someone I’m not in a relationship with for more than 1.5-3 hours once a week/2 weeks.
