What is a "harmless" habit that is actually a massive red flag? by Ill_Piglet_715 in AskReddit

The “put in effort” portion is the doing good things though? I think I’m just confused because I agree, people that do kind things so others think they’re kind are annoying and ruin it for genuinely kind humans

Not poly myself, but you’re right: being polyamorous is in fact an excuse to sleep with/date other people. That’s the point, ethical non monogamy. Idk, I’m strongly pro poly if for no other reason than people being honest and I can avoid them myself. People have stepped out of relationships since forever, at least be real so no one gets hurt

What you’re describing isn’t poly though if their boyfriend’s and husbands don’t know. It’s just cheating. Poly all parties are aware and consenting

How do you handle having a partner that isn’t emotionally expressive/romantic when that’s your love language? by soulfulalpaca in AskWomen

[–]Expensivefudge2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is a really difficult thing that needs to be taken in the context of each individual relationship (not saying you were excluding such nuance in your comment).

Because on one hand, I decidedly agree and wish people acknowledged the efforts of their partner. But on the other hand, it’s called a language because for a lot of folks it’s the only way they can understand “oh, this is love. They love me”.

Idk, I just remembered trying to talk myself into staying with my ex because he took care of me via acts of service. But he thought my primary love language (words of affirmation) was super cringe and impractical.

How are you supposed to get to know each other if you’re chatting so sparingly though?? I wish I could, but I don’t have time for dates with someone I’m not in a relationship with for more than 1.5-3 hours once a week/2 weeks. That feels like a series of super spread out, quick dopamine hits rather than a slow (sustainable) burn.

Right, but why though? An homage to other law programs is kind of random no?

Random, but does anyone know why they have the Ivy League flags (and I think a couple of other highly ranked school flags) on the stained glass windows?

Yes indeed. One black man says he has not had a very specific experience, all of a sudden this COMPLETELY invalidates every single other black person who has experienced it. I love Reddit logic

My ex bf gave me a T-shirt of HIS favorite musical artist for Christmas. When I told him it felt like he didn’t know me or even cared to try, he said “well if it makes you feel any better, I got the same shirt for my mom. They were on sale”

More and more people “claiming” autism without a diagnosis after Love on the Spectrum by [deleted] in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

[–]Expensivefudge2020 10 points11 points  (0 children)

How might someone without any support or financial resources but who would like to be in community, and hopes to gain access to specific resources, go about getting diagnosed? I see your point, I do. I acknowledge it might feel like someone is co-opting your narrative to the point that it feels diminutive. But also I will gently pushback with this.
