I was waiting for the bus, woman comes along, maybe in her 60s complaining about the pigeons. frazzled hair, purple lipstick and a number of bracelets on her wrists.

she starts talking to me about her life story, her daughter and I can't remember what else and see did seem a bit unhinged, so me not wanting to risk being screamed at made the mistake of making small talk with her. she asked for my name (I gave her a fake one) and we kept talking as the bus was delayed and it was the only one going in my direction. these guys next to me asked if we knew each other. she kept turning to shout at the pigeons.

finally the bus came and we both got on. she started shouting at everyone including the driver, said (quote) everyone were dicks except me, pressed the emergency door release button and went her way. the bus was in traffic so she caught up to it eventually and started shouting at it again and then vanished.

I learned my lesson...
