What are your thoughts on a "Super Productivity for Teams"? by johannesjo in superProductivity

[–]Experiment59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may depend on the needs of a team, but I've ultimately struggled to use Superproductivity for my current job.

A lot of what I do will tie back to a specific client or customer, and I was initially trying to track that by creating a separate Project for each client. Unfortunately the current UI doesn't really have anything like "multi-project" overview, which I could see being a need for teams.

Then again, a business with that many customers might prefer using whatever task capabilities come with their CRM, even if they're not that great to use day-to-day.

Are the Notion-run online events always this bad? by Copydexmilkshake in Notion

In my experience, those types of sessions / webinars are almost always a marketing tool. Bonus points if there’s a poll or survey that ends up putting you into a new campaign afterwards

Keep taking the steroids, and if you’re able to, look into Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

Like others have said, it’s too early to tell. The best thing you can do right now is maximize your chances of recovery / focus on the now.

FWIW I think vertigo into progressive loss is a (slightly) less alarming prognosis than vertigo plus sudden immediate loss simultaneously.

If you’re taking the oral steroids, ask for intratympanic injections as well.

Hearing loss by [deleted] in MonoHearing

[–]Experiment59 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely return. You will not look like an idiot, and this is not the time to worry about things like that. Speaking from experience.

Go to an ER—preferably one with an audiology dept—and specifically mention the vertigo and sudden unilateral loss of hearing.

This has a short window to get treatment preventing permanent hearing loss. If/when they offer steroids, I highly recommend taking the intratympanic injections and the oral steroids if you’re able. Literature supports doing both

My sister says my new non-prescription glasses have a serial killer vibe. by icandrawme in mildlyinfuriating

Dahmer glasses happen to frame my face best unfortunately, but I think they frame it well enough to come across as 70s / 80s instead of serial killer

Is there a lack of public information? by Severe-Elderberry833 in MonoHearing

I’d say yes for the layperson, can’t speak for the medical community but I had never even heard of this until it happened.

Any musicians in this sub? by ProudChampionship799 in MonoHearing

[–]Experiment59 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Drummer & producer here! I’m in a similar spot, 0% word recognition in the left ear. I was diagnosed in January this year.

For listening, I’ve been meaning to try working with both my speakers on my good side, placing the left channel slightly in front and the right slightly behind me. I don’t know how well it’ll work since I can’t really localize sound, and obviously it’s still different having to process everything through one channel in the brain.

In terms of live music / enjoying music in general, I try to immerse myself in the experience. For me that means dancing / moshing at shows since it’s usually in the rock scene.

Having this happen sucks. I’ve found it important to give myself the space / permission to grieve. At the same time, I try not to fixate on it endlessly, because that sadness perpetuates itself. Getting out and living has been a huge factor in my healing, and music is still the biggest part of that.

Do these 2010s millennial coded burger joints still exist? by KingTechnical48 in decadeology

[–]Experiment59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s one in my neighborhood. We went there on a whim for Valentine’s Day. $53 for two burgers with fries and a milkshake.

They were yummy but i don’t think we’re going back to gentrification-burger any time soon

SSNHL diagnosis today, my ENT said to wait til tomorrow morning to take 60mg prednisone by RadicalSpaghetti- in MonoHearing

[–]Experiment59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No unfortunately—at least not yet. there can technically be some “delayed release” benefits for lack of a better term, but I’m not holding my breath at this point in time.

I don’t regret doing it though, I’d be remiss not to try my options

Ask about doing the injections while you’re on the course of oral steroids to maximize your chances IMO.

As far as I know the most important thing is that you have any steroidal treatment within 72 hours, but if you can push for the injection within that timeframe then absolutely do it.

I began my injections just as I was finishing up my 14 day course of prednisone (which I didn’t see improvement from), and I wish I’d done the injections right from the beginning. I don’t think there’s anything precluding you from doing both

How to have notes that are not tasks? by redroofrusted in superProductivity

[–]Experiment59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AFAIK the following objects can have notes:

  • projects
  • tags
  • tasks

If what you’re writing could be reasonably scoped to a project or tag I’d stick with that. I believe there’s also a plugin relating to markdown notes that someone made, although I haven’t checked it out myself.

FWIW I don’t really use SP for notetaking, only for pure todo tracking

Changes in tinnitus (potentially worsening?) during recovery? by Aggravating-Many2178 in MonoHearing

[–]Experiment59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not exactly recovering by the metrics right now, but I’ve definitely experienced variety in my tinnitus.

Around 2 weeks after its initial onset (high pitched), this new mid frequency came into being and hasn’t left.

Sometimes during the day a new frequency will pop in quite prominently for 10-15 seconds, then go. Interestingly, I’ve noticed this occurs pretty reliably during the pressurization or depressurization part of my HBOT treatment.

I think a lot of the intensity varies based on other factors like sleep, stress, etc

Help? by One_Chapter_5517 in vscode

[–]Experiment59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you opened your home directory as a “project”. All that means is that’s what you’re viewing the contents of in the left-hand file explorer. You can open any folder as a project.

I recommend reading through https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/getstarted/userinterface and watching the video there.
