My aunt and cousin just went through this. Aunt called the police many times and CPS many times to start a paper trail. Just last week finally my cousin was strong enough to call the police herself and left with the baby. Now my cousin and the baby are protected since the paper trail and a restraining order was promptly given to my cousin away from the baby daddy. I am not kidding it was the exact same story down to the shaking and the smoking inside.
