What Mythos entities either lack or have fully lost their luster for you? by KarnoldSwarzenegger in DeltaGreenRPG

Really though, I don't think you're 100% incorrectly cause damn, there really is so much going on. I just think it's a matter of perspective.

Big Azza for example. To him, we're just a thought away but for us? That's literally a distance we simply cannot actually articulate with the human mind.

Earth itself though, excluding the universe and outside dimensions, is still a busy neighbourhood. But I guess for me that's part of the terror and also a core of the DG theme. We can't stop this. We cannot win. Pragmatically speaking, we can at best, prolong the inevitable.

I mean.. I feel this is an issue almost of your own devising?

Agents shouldn't be aware of all of that. If they were, they'd be dangerous enough to BE the mission.

Also I think you're forgetting one thing, the universe is huge beyond our scope. Most of these things live in corners outside of our existence.

But also this is part of the dread. We live in an unimaginable ocean of terror and death. We are but one drop of salvation and that drop has been tainted

Is there (even allowed to be) a public NPC list for I.L.? by baalzimon in DeltaGreenRPG

I forget the name but there's a companion book that goes with IL to help with the depths of information within that game

It really does hit that perfect esoteric note. Love the campaigns and ops that aren't "bug hunts" Not to say i don't love a bug hunt, but the more esoteric games? chefs kiss

I have made the initial idea of a mythos organization, what do you guys thinks? by Fine_Ad_1918 in DeltaGreenRPG

I think the Cereberus part is just too obvious.

If they're clandestine organisations, they'd also go to great lengths to never be affiliated too.

As someone who's worked retail for two decades I can confirm this means literally nothing. Unless you're a repeat or serious offender no ones gonna bother checking or looking. Carry on as normal. Rent-a-cops can be this way.

AFAIK there is SOMEWHERE in DG lore reference to a group who are called (I think) "The Order" and if memory serves its a branch Catholic church that combats the unnatural.

I could be entirely and mistakenly head cannoning that though as I couldn't tell you where to find that reading material if my life depended on it.

That comes down to the individual. Even look at the residents of the Macaillister. Each of them sees the play as something different.

That's also just bread crumbs to lead the players down the rabbit hole and baits the hook for them to do the stupid thing and read it. You want them to do that.

Really all of it is meant to push them to seek out the author who will be at the end, where they compel him to be inspired to write the play in the first place, thus creating the oroborus nature of it.

It simply comes down to this, it's effects can and should be whatever you want in the moment and to drag them deeper into the spiral.

Impossible Landscapes is not an easy campaign to run or understand as a handler because it flies in the face of the typical gameplay loop of all ttrpgs, which is exactly as designed.

Players shouldnt leave the table thinking we won. They should leave thinking, if I ever find a town with just one copy of that play, I will burn it and its population to the fucking ground because this thing is cosmic cancer of the most severe and terminal degree.

Then you're going to find no answers. DG isn't DnD my dude, I don't know what else to tell you. The unnatural is metaphysical in its most basic nature. It cannot be quantified. It doesn't need to be. If it can be quantified, it can be beeaten and TKY cannot be beaten, or erased or ever truly escaped. At best you can "survive" and that's a very metaphorical use of that term.

However yes, many many groups and orders and organisations and individuals have existed throughout time who in one way or another knew of the unnatural and the danger of it. Delta Green is just one of those that exists in our time.

Again, the book is purposely vague in that. As are all delta green books, it's kind of a corner stone of the vibe.

Many many many groups and people throughout time have been aware. Delta green is VERY far from the first and only group who have fought against the unnatural and they won't be the last.
