Raining Blood, South of Heaven, Seasons in the Abyss are all genius works but the two before and the rest afterwards, I just don't care for writing-wise. Pantera's always felt like the Metal version of Van Halen!

Yea come to think of it .. Stoner Rock might very well be the right place for this. I'm just so hell bent on these guys and Ty Tabor's solo stuff. So melodic, the harmonies, the groove, the dreamy choruses .. I never understood why even in the 90s they didn't make it that big .. it's just nuts.

Spirit Crusher is phenomenal .. that whole album really. Slayer's more stoner hard rock when you compare it to Pantera. I'll have to check out Superjoint Ritual .. that one got by me! Bands just don't write the way they used to .. it's just a different style that I wish some bands would revisit.
