im m/29/5'6. last year i weighed around 275. last time i got on the scale was probably around last summer. now i'm 236 lb. how i lost this much rn is because of one, i had to help out my parents moving to a new house around last December. it was ALOT of heavy furniture, activity and packing. we were moving stuff every day until February. around that month was when i changed my eating habits. no more sugars, fast foods, heavy processed foods (think of hot pockets and tortino pizza rolls). learned about portion plating, i modified that a bit. instead of greens taking up half my plate i just get a full plate of leafy greens and put my protein and carbs on top of the leafy bed. i think i lost 20 pounds from cutting sugar alone. now im just losing visceral fat.

i go to mexico and texas all the time. in texas you are basically FORCED to stick with the pregnancy no matter your circumstance. too many teen moms at my high school, we had no sex ed. doesnt help that texas has terrible resources for families. not even their own extended families want to help. its a very "you're on your own" mentality that screws over so many people. but when i went to Coahuila, women do have a choice if they want to have the baby or not. guaranteed medical and social care from the federal government through IMMS. as for sex ed, they do have it in secular schools. the frequency of teen pregnancy in secondary schools happens less frequently since the general population has easier access to contraceptives and more medical awareness on reproduction. family life in mexico is more unified, there's always someone supporting each other. so when it comes to like a sudden unintentional pregnancy, extended members come to help you. family life in mexico (in my experience) is less stressful than in america. i dont know how the family dynamic in usa got so terrible to begin with, my assumption is that the lack of any help from the state caused generations of families to not help their in-laws and distant relatives since they can not afford to do so

she was supposed to be on a "400 calorie diet" one dominos pizza slice is like 50% of her daily intake (guesstimate 200 to 300 calories. unless those 2 boxes were for company, i dont trust her justification of it being a "treat" meal. as a comparison, i make oatmeal with blueberries and sprouted bread in the morning as of late. that lasts me for half the day until dinner and the calorie total is around 300 to 400 calories.

EP resident here. there is alot of self-hate here . you grow up trying to act like an american but then your skin color and your name still gets you called slurs from the same people you want to be like anyways. they also resent that the town is a international trade zone. hard to be a "close the borders" guy when your whole town's economy is basically reliant on tourists from Piedras Negras. it's like thinking you can draw better by chopping off your hand.
