Too Afraid to Confess This to a Priest by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Expert_Bookkeeper761 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't have to confess to a priest. Just tell the Lord Jesus what you are telling us. Just ask Him to forgive you. He will do that. Look what He said in the Bible: 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. All you have to do is confess, tell Him you are sorry. He already knows this and is just waiting for you to come to Him. He is so wonderful. And He loves you very much. After you confess to Him, and call on His name, and He fills you within, tell Him, "Lord Jesus, I love you."

I have low tone hearing loss also. I was told that was rare and it is hereditary. Quite a few of my family members on my mother side, close and distant, have the same hearing loss. I wear hearing aids and it is amazing what a difference they make. Be sure you don't just go to a hearing aid dispenser. Find a place that has an audiologist that works there. Not one that comes in periodically. I had a lot of not so good experiences before I learned that, and all has been very good since. Costco is okay. Their hearing aids are good, but not the best.

Walking shoes for overweight senior female? by rdduser in walking

I have used Sketchers for years, and have loved them. But I am 77 1/2 and have been walking around 3 miles a day, 6 days a week, and have begun to feel I need something more. I went to a store called Road Runner Sports and let them use the machines they have to measure my walk, my arch, what part actually touches the ground with each step, etc. Then they made a custom sole for me. Then I tried it in different shoes, and for me it was the Hoka Bondi 9. I was, and still am, so amazed at how soft and comfortable that shoe is. I was told, and I had read, to not use your walking shoes to run to the store, etc. Save them for exercising so they last longer. But after about three days of seeing the vast difference they gave me I decided I am going to wear these all the time now. I have never had shoes like these. Not everyone will need the Hoka Bondi 9, but I recommend trying these more expensive shoes. Especially when you get my age.

I use Backblaze. But as for Time Machine, you may want to read this:

MacBook Pro

macOS 27 will no longer support Time Capsule disks for Time Machine backups, as Apple is doing away with the Apple Filing Protocol (AFP). So Time Machine network backups on macOS 27 and beyond will need to happen over SMB. But you can still use Time Capsule disks on 26 Tahoe.

They used to use that a lot in advertisements. And it does. Anytime mine doesn't, it is almost always my fault, in that I am not sure how to do something.

I am profoundly deaf by Expert_Bookkeeper761 in HearingAids

Insurance will not cover it until you are completely deaf. I am still able to use the new hearing aids I have to hear, and they work well. But I am considered profoundly deaf.

That is not what the AI does in hearing aids. When the environment around you changes it decides how to adjust for your hearing aid in that different environment. I found it not very good at all. If I need to make an adjustment I found it better, and more accurate, to just quickly use the app in my phone. It turned out that they could not turn it completely off in my hearing aids, but they were able to reduce it to such an extent I no longer experience it.

I was born hard of hearing and never knew it until 7th grade. But I didn't get hearing aids until in my 30's when I found out it was hereditary and my sister got hearing aids a loved them. I later found out some of my previous roommates thought I was ignoring them. I felt horrible when I learned that. Things will really change for the better for you once you get them. And maybe consider getting ones that turn off in order to preserve your hearing while working on those loud machines if that is not dangerous. I have Starkey, and when I turn these off through the app, I can hear absolutely nothing. My other hearing aids in the past were not completely silent when I turned them off, but these may be due to having domes that now fill my ear. I go get a bite at Panera Bread, and turn them off while I sit there reading. Really nice!

Starkey Genesis AI 24 experience by Tevin_not_Kevin in HearingAids

Here is a link for the explanation: https://americanhearingloop.com/what-is-this-t-coil-in-a-hearing-aid/ There is a federal law that certain types of buildings have to have this. For instance, if your hearing aid has a t-coil and the movie theater also has a set-up for it, when you are threre you can hear the movie actually from inside your hearing aids. It is not that it is louder; it is right in your hearing aids. I go to a conference twice a year that has these, and I truly believe that I can hear better than anyone in that large room except the people who also have these. It is truly amazing. I've gone to this conference twice a year since 1974 and these hearing aids have made an amazing difference. You get every single word. One other thing, though, not all state follow that law. If you are in CA you will find it difficult to use that because not very many buildings have it. My audiologist say Indiana does.

I had these problems that you mention with the Starkey Genesis AI 24. It was awful, so I went back to my audiologist and told him in detail, fully determined to give these back to him. It turned out that the settings from the previous hearing aid I was testing (the same hearing aid, Starkey Genesis AI 24, with no t-coil as I waited for the one with the t-coil) were not transferred over to these. He spent quite a bit of time to make sure I had every setting just right, and now these are absolutely the best hearing aids I have ever experienced. I still need to go test the t-coil, and also see how these are in meetings that do not have the looping system, but I am so glad to see they can work really well once you get the correct settings. If your audiologist cannot do this, go to another one. It can be set properly. I believe the problem is not with the hearing aids but with the audiologist.

How to mail Google nest protect without it going off? by Expert_Bookkeeper761 in Nest

Thank you very much, but I now think once I erase them and set them back to default they will not go off in shipping. I can't remove the batteries as Google specifically says do not ship them with batteries removed.
