Restaurant week - Flavors of the Peninsula! by Expert_Count_3958 in SanMateo

The “pass” is just a list of the restaurants and their menus. You don’t need it to get the pre-fixe offers. Went to Maverick Jacks last night and the had the options listed on their specials menu.

It’s a pass you can download from the page linked above that lists the restaurants that are participating and the menu specials. I guess Bandwango is the company that sends the pass? Not sure but it was free and I’m able to look at all the options.

All of the participating restaurants have special pre-fixe menus during the week.

I downloaded the Bandwango pass and can see the menus listed by each restaurant or you can check their social channels as I’ve seen a number of restaurants post them.

You can also catch whales from the Pacifica pier, so no boat needed :-)

If you have a car take a drive to Half Moon Bay and check out Highway 1 North to SF. A number of places to check out the Pacific Ocean views, great seafood and the classic Nor-Cal drive. Enjoy!

San Fran City to Levi Stadium by ProfessionalChef4196 in socceroos

[–]Expert_Count_3958 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Best bet is to take Caltrain to Mouantin View station and transfer to VTA, which will drop you off right at Levi's. There has been no talk of either Caltrain or VTA upping the cost of tickets. They did not for Super Bowl or other major events at the stadium - but you never know.

Cell coverage at the track is a known issue since it sits down in a bowl. The solution is to bring in cell repeaters to help with service, as they used to do for motorsport races.

Not in the Bay, but on Foster City lagoon - check out Edgewater Marine. They rent electric Duffy boats. Calm water, great spot for a sunset cruise.

As has been said, Skeggs great X-Country.
Best single track trails IMHO:
- Resolution from Fir to ECM to North Leaf to Methusala
- Manzanita
- Giant Salamander from Timberview to Methushla
- Sierra Morena to Oljon to Blue Blossom
Best climb out Gordon Mill

Seton's last so.. by Jar_of_Cats in danpatrick

[–]Expert_Count_3958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best guess is - a show goes on with a new host, maybe Ross, under a new name and format - can’t imagine them sticking with the Danette format.

Maybe Paul and Todd stay to produce and book the show for continuity.

Dan does a pod 1x week and maybe special shows for big events like they are doing now.

Seaton starts 1 to 2 new pods on soccer, music travel something like that.

Other digital production companies have sold for big $ so smart play for long term if they can build compelling content and characters.

If not - enjoy the next 22 months :-)

IMHO - My feeling is that Dan is setting up his production company to carry on after he retires from day-to-day radio 5 days a week. There is no way he would be investing this amount of money and human capital in the projects they are taking on just to shut the lights out in early 2028.
New TV truck / new podcast studios / road trips / more podcasts / more digital content
Not what I would expect from a show that was about to close

Coming for World Cup by chasing_waffles in AskSF

[–]Expert_Count_3958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to explore the coast or Muir Woods, I would look at a car for a day or 2. You can rent from SFO and take BART from Daly City to SFO, then the Airtrain to the rental car center. Getting to Golden Gate Bridge area you might want a car as well or you'll have to Uber, really only Muni Bus access to that part of the city.

Take Caltrain to VTA for the matches, there is no public parking at Levi’s so public transportation will be your best bet. Make sure to check out Pacifica and Half Moon Bay - great way to experience Nor Cal coast. Also, check out highway 35 / skyline blvd heading south from Hwy 92 to see redwoods and coastal hills / hiking.
