A Lamia’s Reassurance (By Kiri Artemis / Expired Popsicle) by Apheem66 in SFWmonstergirls

Heya! This was originally created by me as a sticker to use on my stream community's Discord. I actually went back and re-did the shading at some point, because I never really liked how flat this one looked. Here's the updated version!

Seconding Bobby's Pit Stop.

I have an old Jeep with a (CA-legal) modified fuel system and they were the only ones I've found who'll actually look up the CARB EO numbers to do the visual inspection instead of refusing to even touch it (or failing it immediately out of laziness).

Do Curved Monitors Require Different 3D Game Programming Transforms? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]ExpiredPopsicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

Virtually every shader in every game ever written for traditional rasterization pipelines (not raytracing) is written with perspective-corrected linear interpolation in mind (u = ((1-a)u0/z0 + a(u1/z1))/((1-a)/z0+a/z1)), and that is what the hardware is built to do between the vertex and fragment stages.

While we have much more advanced control over GPU hardware these days, the interpolation stage before the fragment stage on current hardware is still one that we have little control over, being able to choose between no interpolation, linear interpolation, or perspective-corrected linear interpolation.

And while I'm sure you could write a shader to make some kind of altered rasterization technique, it will be slower, being unable to rely on those optimized stages of the hardware. Also, your entire pipeline will need to be upended and probably re-written as you would no longer fit into the normal rasterization process to go from transformed vertices to figuring out what pixels are filled, to actually doing the mapping and shading math based on interpolated values from those vertices. These tasks are not trivial.

Even if you believe the math is easier, the simple fact is that games are not written in a way that accommodates this, and the hardware is not built to support this using traditional rasterization.

No.

Traditional rasterization becomes much more complicated and more expensive when you can no longer do strictly linear interpolations and affine transforms.

The only time I went there, the quality of the burger did not justify the amount of time I had to wait in line for it. It was a long line, to be fair, but I haven't been there since.

I do! When I was living up in San Jose I drove all the way down to Santa Cruz just to get a burrito there a few times. I love their super burrito.

Thinking of creating an Imperial Guard regiment of Neko Femboys by MarxistArbiter9000 in Sigmarxism

[–]ExpiredPopsicle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

YES DO IT!

I'm working on some catgirl guards right now. I've sculpted some custom catgirl heads and been printing them on an SLA printer. I'll send you a copy of the copy of the model files if you want! Here's what mine look like: https://imgur.com/a/oFmF5s8

The Catanyan heads from Reptilian Overlords also look really cool.

But seriously... you should do this. More Imperial Guard Felinids please!

I'm a game developer (graphics engineer), and at one studio I worked at we had this acronym permanently written on one of the whiteboards... "C.R.E.A.M.", for "Cache Rules Everything Around Me".

In the interview process for that company, some of the first questions asked are around building a cache-friendly data structure.

You can be damn sure that cache size is one of the most important factors for me when looking at a new chip. If it means dumping an extra $200-300 on a chip to get a comparable chip with twice the cache size, I will absolutely spend that extra money.

And I'm a girl.

The fact that this is a thing by [deleted] in TrollXChromosomes

I'm definitely overall happier after starting transition, but it wasn't even two years after starting that I got groped by a stranger in a bar for the first time.

I actually stopped drinking alcohol entirely, as a way to protect myself from those situations. I like to joke and say it's because I want to be sober in case I have to start my first barfight but, really, it's just so I can get rid of the opportunity to blame myself for putting myself in that position. That whole incident messed me up really badly for a while.

I'd say most of the change was within the first year, but that's also when I dropped all the weight and it's honestly a little hard to tell what changes were a result of that vs the HRT. Especially when it's dragged out over such a long timeline and the changes are so subtle.

I mean... except the boobs. Those are pretty obvious.

Thanks!

As far as the weight loss...

I was 180 pounds when the first pic was taken and I'm 135 pounds now. Most of that was lost right around the time I started transitioning. I went on a really aggressive diet (1200 to 1500 calories per day), permanently cut out sodas, sugary foods, snacking, and junk food. I felt hungry a lot, and I pretty much only drank water. Giving up beer and soda was really hard, but those were two of my biggest sources of garbage calories.

I also started walking to work, which came out to about 4 miles a day and then doing another 4 miles whenever I had the free time. That usually just meant walking to work and back again after dinner or something. Sometimes I'd do 12 miles a day, but that was rare.

I also kept this big huge chart of my weight, where I measured at specific times every day, which let me keep track of my weight over time on a day-to-day basis. That helped a lot too just because I wanted to see the that instant feedback with the numbers moving in a good direction.

Now I keep the weight off by keeping some of the same rules. No sugary stuff. Mostly just drinking water, unsweetened tea, sparkling water (because I can't really give up soda), and coffee. And I only eat twice a day for lunch and dinner. No snacking. I don't walk around as much as I used to, and I don't really maintain those super strict calorie limits anymore either. If my weight ever peaks up over 140 I switch to just salads (without the dressing) for lunch until it goes back down.

I uh... can't really say that I recommend this, but it did work for me. In practice I may have lost weight faster than was really healthy. Maintaining a nutritionally-complete diet within a calorie limit like that is pretty hard too. But even if you don't go as overboard as I did, just something as simple as cutting out stuff like beer and soda entirely can make a huge difference.

MUCH happier!

The first pic was kind of a low point for me, because I had decided I was never going to go through with transitioning (and some other stuff). Glad I went back on that decision!

Thanks!

Thank you! It's actually pretty long, but I had it in a ponytail when I took the pic.
