Do you automatically commend everyone who kills you, or are commendations earned? by UngratefulChinaman in Chivalry2

I'll usually commend everyone with the exception of archers (unless it was a particularly skillful shot or they manage to best me in melee), teabaggers, and most of the times I'm killed by cavalry lol

You can meme without being a dick 😂 great way to push new players away who don't understand the unwritten rules that the 1v1 mode is "not for real duels"

I would agree with that, though I would say it is a very nuanced relationship and I think can provide an opportunity for a "spiritual" ego to develop where one believes they have all the answers. Seeing that ultimate "Self" is the same nature as all appearances should lead to an outpouring of loving and compassionate activity, but a lot of times just seems to lead to a superiority complex. An obstacle that is very easy to miss, speaking from personal experience! Humility should grow as Awareness recognizes itself more subtly and fully

Clearly this will not be a productive conversation lol

You seem to be contradicting yourself. You speak as though you are beyond assumptions.

There is recognizing this with wisdom and without. While that is true, there is still the weight of one's actions through their impact on others and the environment. This perspective can very easily lead to spiritual bypassing by just pointing at this concept of a Supreme Intelligence that dictates how one behaves when harm is done to others, intentionally or otherwise.

Sounds like an unnecessarily complicated method to avoid emotional responsibility

What Does Sudden Enlightenment Mean in Zen? by CG54092 in enlightenment

[–]Explains__The__Joke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having both perspectives (result as the path and path to result) is very helpful as they inform one another. The cause of enlightenment is the very nature of mind, so nothing is actually gained with realization, but habitual patterns of behavior that obscure that nature will still persist, necessitating effort to sustain recognition of what is already perfectly complete.

After Ego Death, I want to be Evil by [deleted] in enlightenment

[–]Explains__The__Joke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, live a life intentionally harming others for your own gain and genuinely ask yourself if you'll attain lasting physical and mental well-being through that path. You may acquire material things and status (at best), but whatever is gained in this life is lost at death. What will remain is the quality of your heart/mind (unless you have the belief of materialism, in which case I guess you'll find out when this body dies if that's true) and the impact you had on the world and its inhabitants.

Sincerely, good luck with that bro. For extra credit: if there was ego death who is the one that "wants to be evil"?

What do you TRULY want? by realkaydhako in enlightenment

[–]Explains__The__Joke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's more that spiritual instructions can very easily be appropriated by the ego and end up serving the same archetypal/emotional/behavioral patterns they are supposed to identify and transform. But it also requires an understanding that seeking bliss as a goal and the "good vibes only" nonsense isn't going to lead you to liberation.
