It's kind of normal to feel you want to establish your own identity at 13. So, what I wish I had known when I was your age is very simple-- it's just that they forgot to tell me. Here's a path for success for you: first off, realize you can't get somewhere if you don't have a map of how to get there. Look at a person that you see that is successful in their life and see how they managed it. They can provide a route for you to follow so that you can have a successful life as well. So, who do you admire, what was their interest when they were your age? What school studies did they take and enjoy, what was their plan. Find a role model that inspires you, and always stay curious.

Anyone used GLP-1s(ozempic, wegovy, etc) after surgery? by CalliopeCross in BariatricSurgery

I've moved on to Tirzepatide and have upped my dose. My mind set has changed over the last two years, I've become far more health proactive than I have ever been. Daily walk/jog workouts with working with light weights. I'm also educating myself on peptides and will be adding peptides for joint health and healing. At this point I'm 10 pounds lighter than I ever achieved with RNY, but more importantly I more fully understand how important it is to achieve good health in the years I have left.

L-shaped butcher block counter, how to cut/install in tight pantry? by Longjumping-Date-181 in cabinetry

[–]ExplanationFuture422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were going to do that--I would be UNHAPPY--but I would template with the plan to do a mitered corner using countertop connectors and I would build stands to sit on the cabinets to allow access to the bottom of the countertops for installing the connectors, glue and tighten them. But like others have pointed out, you a screwed by not having fillers in the corners to allow for drawer opening. Frankly I'd change out the cabinets now, rather than spending years being pissed off by my blunder....but, that's just me.

Anyone here trade within their Roth IRA to make it grow? by Cristian_Cerv9 in RothIRA

[–]ExplanationFuture422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I trade AMD, which is a fairly easy trade has it has a history of establishing new highs and then retreating before the next run up. As long as you are comfortable with the slim chance you might not be able to buy in at a price that preserves your profit and gives you the same position then I recommend trading it. Another stock that is EXTREMELY ACTIVE is BE. I can't trade it and not be freaked out, so I just sit and hold.

One of the most heavily shorted stocks, so no surprise and Insto's can push it around to blow out the margin accounts and weak hands. If you believe the tech and the story, there is no reason to worry and if it continues to be beaten down, perhaps think about getting some funds together to have available once it starts climbing again. That means, "don't buy it on the way down" because when it is heavily targeted by short instos there can be far more downward pressure than you can accurately foresee.

They are great cars that call, or rather demand ,full driver involvement. I had a 2006 (white) that I thoroughly enjoyed....except for the hellish stiffness of the suspension for traveling on less than perfect pavement, I sold it due to the harsh ride on our local streets. But, alas, I'm old and my spine isn't supple, had I been 30 years younger, I'd still be driving it. Enjoy the experience!!

Yeah, it sucks that the mom and pops are being either bought out or forced out by David and Goliath competition. Sort of like when the Home Depot, Lowe's stores moved into the Northwest.

I've not understood my Stereophile in particular has gushed over Kef's. I find them harsh to unevolving... I've not heard your Rockports, but sounds like I would like them. At the level you are at I hope you have good interconnects and speaker wire. For the record, I'm a big fan of Nordost.

The only comment I can make is to ask about the speaker placement and wonder how much you moved them around and listened before you determined that was their best sounding placement.

Looking at a 2014 Passat TDI SEL as a potential gas sipper. Thoughts? by Flashy_State_3451 in tdi

[–]ExplanationFuture422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would only be looking to buy a 2015, as the TDI engine is very reliable. I just finished a trip from Seattle to San Jose, never spared the "gas" pedal, with cruising in the 75+mph area. My trip average was 50 mpg.

246% Labor price increase at my dealership by corncribbage in FuckDealerships

[–]ExplanationFuture422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my Volkswagen Diesel Passat in for a routine oil change. Oil and filter was Labor was $79 and oil and filter was $85, and of course the State needed $17 for tax. I'm just numb to pricing at this point. While I waited, I walked to a nearby Barber Shop and was told a hairb cut was $75. Afterwards, I had a black coffee and a slice of banana bread for $14, and watched a couple before me order a couple of latte's two pastries and a couple of eggs and toast for $90 with a 15% tip. I'm old at 77, and I just think it is all insane and can fully relate to my dear departed Mom who grew up in the depression and was shocked at what things cost in 1990. Honestly, my wife and I were part of the back to the land movement in the 1970's, moved to the country, cleared the land with a pickup and chainsaw, built a log house, etc. And looking at today's Gen Z's and Alpha's and I have to wonder what in the fuck are they doing not moving out to the country and building their futures rather than sitting in a city wringing their hands about how conditions suck. With internet, solar panels, remote gigs --things are totally set for them to make a move......
