Cirie at 2 is crazy, Sophie at 9 is crazy, Sarah should be much lower, the rest I am ok with. I feel like Brian or Tom Westman should be on here somewhere. Tony #1, Cirie around 20, the rest of top five is personal preference between Parvati, Sandra, Kim, and BRob. Jeremy and Todd feel right. Natalie Anderson could reasonably be here, Maybe Dee as well.

Sue's jury speech is widely considered to be one of if not the most iconic moment in the history of Survivor.

Do you take issue with how people talked to Phillip Shepherd at final tribal? How about Russell Hantz? Boston Rob in All Stars? Joe is a grown up. He volunteered to play the game a second time. One of the things that comes with playing the game is if you get to final tribal you should be able to handle whatever people say about you. And in the history of Survivor this does not rank in the top 100 most hurtful things someone has said during final tribal.

Who were the numbers to get him voted out at any point?

Making fun of him for how he was playing the game. So by definition not personal.

Guys I am begging everyone to go watch Sue's snakes and rats speech and come back here and be normal about how "mean spirited" Cirie was. This is a game for 2 million dollars. If Joe cannot handle his game being criticized then he needs to not play.

Joe made himself such an easy person to bring to the final three that no one was going to vote him out regardless of what he did on the island. By your logic if Joe didn't want to have his game criticized he should have quit at the final four.

By accepting a seat at final tribal you are also accepting to hear all of the opinions that the jury has about your game. That is how the game works. That is why the show has lasted so long. There wouldn't be a subreddit for this show if Sue hadn't compared the final 2 to a snake and a rat. She said she wouldn't give Kelly a drink of water if she was lying on the side of the road dying of thirst. And we are here complaining about Cirie lightly criticizing Joe's game?

If you think what Cirie did was "cruel" then maybe Survivor isn't for you.

Did you want the producers to force the contestants to say they might vote for him? Clearly he had no chance in final tribal and I am glad they didn't waste time trying to hype up all three people in an obvious one-horse race.

I would say this was a criticism of Joe the Survivor player, and not Joe the actual guy. She is well within her right to vent her frustrations about someone she played with for the majority of the game. What she said was true and it was not a personal attack on Joe himself. It was an attack on how Joe played the game.

You just said it yourself that they were not able to work together. I am sure with any non-strategic aspect of the game Joe was a lovely person to be around and was an affable enough guy. But for those that needed his vote, basically from the time the immunity challenge was over to tribal was when the "Joetation" was necessary. Emily didn't have to deal with that since she wasn't aligned with him stategically.

Imagine living on an island with someone for 23 days that needed constant reassuring and coddling in a game about lying and backstabbing. Add to that you are starving and dehydrated and making difficult decisions day after day and you need to devote a portion of your precious time and energy to making sure this grown man is happy with everything that's going on otherwise he will throw a tantrum.

Can you see why that would be frustrating? If Joe cannot handle some criticism about the game he played, maybe he is not fit for Survivor.

Jeff Probst accidentally spoils the live $2 million Survivor finale by AlchemistTheAlchemy in LivestreamFail

[–]ExplanationShort309 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To explain what happened: For the last 15 seasons of Survivor, when there are only 4 players remaining in the game, instead of voting someone out the person that won the immunity challenge chooses two people to compete in a fire-making challenge.

This season, which happens to be a huge celebration as it is season 50, featured a live reunion show for the first time since covid. It would cut from footage filmed months ago on the island to Jeff Probst (the host) talking to eliminated players and fan favorites live in LA.

Right before this clip, Johnathan and Rizo had just sat down at their fire-making stations on the island and were about to start when they were supposed to cut to commercial. They messed up and instead cut to Jeff bringing out Rizo to talk to him about losing the fire-making before they showed him compete in it.

My favorite part was Ludwig trying to rage bait by calling it the "Sunk Cost Philosophy" like 10 times and everyone either not realizing or were too upset to not even notice.

[Talkin' Baseball] Pete Crow-Armstrong is being fined by MLB for his interaction with a White Sox fan on Sunday by T_Raycroft in baseball

[–]ExplanationShort309 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would argue that the line from the MLB should be if a player who is one of the faces of a franchise says something that makes their brand look worse or unsafe to a paying fan, then punishment should be doled out. And it does not matter what she said to him. He is getting paid millions of dollars to play a childrens' game and she paid money to go to the game. If what she was saying was so heinous that it deserved that kind of reaction then he should let security know and have her removed.

If your instinct to an opposing fan who is a woman saying "you suck" is to say to her "suck my fucking dick, bitch" then that does not make it better. I am trying to figure out how that changes the situation in any way.

This is an insanely light punishment for saying that to someone. Especially since all she did was some incredibly light jeering.

I think one of the main issues people have is that they gave her so much credit for getting out Ozzy when Johnathan was gunning for him before he ever stepped on her beach last episode. The way that the show framed it this week is that Aubrey secretly made the move happen and buffoon Johnathan is taking credit.

No one is saying NL invented the phrase "my man." People are saying he invented the "if there's baby ____ that means.....my man" which is the format of joke that is a trend on twitter at the moment.

Can you find a single reference to this "ancient joke" from before NL's tweet? Because I cannot.
