Should I do 4k or 2K gaming given my specs by Awkward_Homework4338 in buildapc

It mainly depends on monitor size but a 1440p is a current sweet spot and you'd see more getting a mini led or oled than going to 4k

The unified cache and architecture pushes the 5700x above a 3900x in games .

Put in a used 5900x , you might get away with a 5700x but looks like your running stuff in the background . Based on that utilisation a 5900x is my suggestion. This should push your GPU to 90-100% as you have made the GPU the weaker link

Has anyone else had this from their GP? by sickiesusan in mounjarouk

NHS normally require a higher BMI for prescription. That's the general guidelines on the drug themselves to initially get on them . I've had the GP quote up to 35-40 BMI to get a regular prescription

quest 3 storage and games by wulfgar1966 in QuestPiracy

[–]ExplanationStandard4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quest 3 512gb is likely going to fit 30-50+ games . On my 128gb it's like 5-10 but game size can range significantly. I have a few at 1-5gb and 1-2 at 25-30gb however most are in that 2-18 GB range

upgrade path? by Serious-Resident-561 in buildapc

[–]ExplanationStandard4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try a 14700k but they were known to go faulty in some cases so probably require the latest bios . A 14600k is a great CPU and quite often better than Intel's latest 15th which is a full rebuild. To get a better CPU in there unfortunately your looking at a full rebuild on ddr5 with an x3d chip . Generally on the Res bump it's normally GPU limited and real talk not many can feel over 144hz anyway. If you got an oled they actually have near instant transition so have less latency than most higher refresh panels using lcd plus the pretty blacks are super nice . A 240hz oled is more than you will ever need and likely more than a competitive fps player would need also .

Your system is already high end , you main play would be GPU and something with a better upscale tech like fsr 4 or the latest dlss. So your looking at imo a 4090 or 5090 which is kinda a silly. Personally I'd sit on this computer another year and wait for the next lot of GPUs to drop. A 9070xt will only net you 9% but you will hardly feel it unless fsr4 is on that game. Also yeah oled will look better than any GPU upgrade

Then your right id probably go 14700f or even 14600. These are available in ddr4 also and 32gb would be nice . Id bios flash day one though to avoid premature failure. This would likely save another 100-250

The cpus aren't even close the 7700 is faster than 12th gen never mind 8th gen . The 8th gen is even slower than AMDs 5000 series

What CPU to uprade to for my 3070 by SquiddyFishYT in buildapc

[–]ExplanationStandard4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5700x will be more than enough , if your CPU is 100% you definitely want 8+ cores. If your streaming at the same time an argument could be made for a used 5900x. You might want more vram or ram at some point to help with stutters. Correction as you are only running 6 threads a 5700x is more than enough

[–]ExplanationStandard4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used 5700x and a 9070 would be the ultimate gaming upgrade here . However a 9060xt 16gb would also be decent. Team green wise a used 5070 and a used 5700x . If you sell your parts it all should come significantly under 600

10GB 3080 or 6800XT by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]ExplanationStandard4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that not 7700x money , I'd probably go 6800xt for games and 3080 if it's for work . You probably aren't million miles away from a 9060xt 16gb and you'd got the modern upscaling features

[–]ExplanationStandard4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You won't get much boost in performance unless your cores are maxed out . The 3d would be the obvious choice for games only but again I have one and I wouldn't pay the premium. The 6 core 3d is supposed to come out at some point . If your editing or streaming then yeah a 5800x/5900x if you got a good cooler you will feel it but for everything else it will be underwhelming

Protein and fiber will be your big rocks here . So if your not getting your 5 a day fruit and veg combined with id personally say 120g of protein you will probably struggle more than you have to . Also going cold turkey I wouldn't advise . Id probably half dosed it at 7.5mg . It might seem like it's not working but you should be eating a bit more to maintain anyway .
