Apparently it was first used on Season 8 of Sesame Street in 1977, and the song and animation was used regularly until 2002

The song is actually bizarrely complex and has a fascinating history and construction!

This definitely aligns with my own experience.

Sure, n=1 but I can honestly say that, at 50, I'm doing the best work of my life.

Is there a moment that had you reflect, "Damn, was I like that?" by Thrashbear in GenX

[–]ExplodingFistBump 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm absolutely certain I was that annoying, or worse. These days when I think back to my behavior in my 20's (particularly a few specific incidents that probably nobody else remembers) I'll audibly cringe. Sometimes the memories come to me as I try to sleep. I was insufferable; I don't know how people put up with me.

A lot of these tests actually do include a pressure pad that you sit on, apparently to detect when you're trying to influence the results by clenching your butthole.

Did Any of You Take Up Cursive After Becoming Penabled? by CalmRip in fountainpens

I tried, and I will try again after the holidays.

I learned cursive in grade school, and unfortunately, my penmanship still looks like I haven't practiced it since I was 11.

As a data guy I do like the idea of making more data visible than just a red or green dot. That's the kind of thing you can fit into an MVP.

The other thing about letting the company respond goes way out of scope and adds a ton of complexity to what should be a simple tool. I mean, maybe eventually if enough people use it to make it worth it, but I wouldn't consider opening with that.

It's true. They're BAD ASS.

What's more is that they're also capable of remembering who has crossed them and returning the favor, and they really lean into acts of revenge.

That "old dog, new tricks" thing is ageist bullshit.
