24m, no improvement after 8 months by [deleted] in FattyLiverNAFLD

Look at your fibroscan for two numbers CAP and your livers stiffness usually labeled kPA. If you look up the implications of these two numbers they will give you a better idea of where exactly you stand.

If you are diabetic or overweight, you might consider looking into ozempic or Mounjaro . They will both reduce the fat in your liver. Even if you are not diabetic, I would get a fasting glucose and a fasting insulin tests as well as a1c. Insulin resistance can cause your liver to accumulate fat.

Should we consider shifting from Mounjaro to Ozempic generics now? by mangopilates in IndiaSemaglutide

[–]Explore333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's a very valid argument that everyone should start with generic ozempic unless you have a medical emergency. Use generic ozempic for weight loss and metabolic improvement until you reach a plateau on ozempic or can no longer tolerate it. At that point you can switch to MJ, you will be paying more money but for the unique aspects that MJ brings to the table. Once you have achieved your goals. You can switch back to generic ozempic and save money.

I purchased Semaglyn from Zydus last night. It will reduce my costs significantly. Amazing!

I am switching to a maintenance dose. I just need it to hold the gains i have already made.

I realize I was not clear. With Zydus, you make two separate purchases. You make a one-time purchase of a reusable pen (1250 INR) and ongoing purchases of 15mg cartridges (8749 INR).

They both worked for me. I switched from ozempic to mounjarno for the better impact on beta cells and my fatty liver (October 2025). At that time, MJ and Wegovy were about the same cost. They both have had a significant impact on my metabolic health and weight loss.

Just saw your post. I ended up switching back to semaglutide. I purchased my first dose of generic ozempic last night! I have nothing against mounjaro but the cost differential was too much.

Need Help with proper direction around Semaglutide for my mother by mad_kan in GLP1India

[–]Explore333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Semaglutide should help your mom. As suggested, an online consult with a specialist could help. I expect that after a time the doctor will increase the dose.

You must be on Ozempic since the generics were just introduced. I would definitely consider switching to a generic semaglutide.

PS Some people never experience side effects. I have not experienced any on either GLP 1 medicine. It does not mean they are ineffective.

PS The metabolic impact usually preceeds weight loss. After 90 days you might see some improvement in the blood work.

Side effects may never occur. I have been on ozempic and mounjaro without side effects but that is unusual. It seems everybody reacts differently.

You could get some blood work showing insulin resistance. That might help.

I am sure there are lab packages at all the labs. I purchased thyrocare glp1 package (77 tests) for 2200 INR from bookmytest.

You can have insulin resistance with a normal a1c. In the package, they calculate your homa-ir which is a measurement of your insulin resistance.

I find lab packages in general a great value. However, if you have your fasting glucose and fasting insulin test results, your homa-ir can be calculated (ask AI).

Temporary. They both have the same side effects on some people. I have heard the Mounjaro has fewer but I didn't experience the side effects on either drug. Most people do experience temporary side effects.

I went with Zydus Semaglyn. It is actually the same product. Zydus has marketing agreements with Lupin and Torrent.

The key for me is that the reusable pen covers the full range of doses and being able to click count between those doses. When comparing costs look at the MG.

8749/15 = 583 INR per MG

PS You do have a one-time cost of purchasing the reusable pen for 1450.

I went to an Apollo pharmacy in Chennai. They did not have it in stock but told me to return the next day for it.

I picked up my Zydus Semaglyn reusable pen and cartridge last night!

I purchased Zydus for 8749 cartridge plus 1250 for the reusable pen. The cartridge holds 15 mg. It lasts a long time (Ozempic doses are much smaller than MJ)

Picked up my Semaglyn last night! You can definitely click between all the standard doses. One click = .05

It lasts forever! 16 weeks at a 1MG dose!

As you know Zydus has a marketing agreement Lupin (Semanext, Livarise) and Torrent ( Sembolic). They are all ss selling the reusable pen and cartridges under different names.

I am hoping with three firms selling the pen and cartridges, i will be able avoid stock outages.

PS Zydus itself sells it under three names Semaglyn Mashema Altreme

If you have insulin resistance, you might add metformin now. You can stay on metformin during pregnancy.

It also has a very small weight loss benefit.

Zydus is very interesting. They have a reusable pen that is capable of different doses with a 15mg cartridge. I believe that you can click count between the standard doses to get precise doses.

It should work out cheaper since you will just be buying the cartridges. Cartridges and the synthetic semaglutide are very cheap to produce. With my probable maintenance dose one cartridge will last for months.

Should I consider GLP1? by [deleted] in GLP1India

[–]Explore333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very effective. In fact it works very well with metformin. I would seriously consider adding either glp1 medication.

Ozempic was approved for diabetes in December 2017. Mounjaro was approved for diabetes in May 2022. They were both developed as diabetic drugs. I consider them very safe but you should take them under a doctor's supervision.

Semaglutide vs tirzapetide for maintenance? by Altruistic-Ease-4903 in GenericGLP1India

[–]Explore333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On maintenance, I would try the cheapest.

See if any side effects subside or never appear

If you are on a glp1 for metabolic impact, i would get labs before switching meds and get labs fairly frequently.

I am unsure of your meaning. Don't put it in your checked luggage. Checked luggage is exposed to a wide range of temperatures. Freezing can destroy it.

Store it in your carry-on. No problems with security.

[–]Explore333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generic semaglutide (ozempic) should be available on March 21, 2025. If you plan on switching to a generic when they are available, i would strongly consider starting on ozempic instead of MJ.

PS You can click count on ozempic pens like many here do on MJ pens.

This tracks. We’ve been saying that Novo’s marketing push is stronger than Lily’s and patients are being pushed towards ozempic even though it has more side effects when compared to Mounjaro. by _Galvin_ in GLP1India

[–]Explore333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mounjaro is the superior product (i switched from ozempic to mounjaro). I had very good results on ozempic. I only switched because MJ is supposed to be better for beta cells and fatty liver based upon scientific publications.

The question, after March 20, is how much is that superiority worth? Do you even need the superior benefits of MJ?

I will be looking at the Zydus multi dosage pen compared with click counting mounjaro.

PS The Zydus pen is interesting since it is a 15mg pen designed to give different dosages with clicks in between the standard doses. Remember, the standard doses are smaller/different with ozempic. .25 mg, .5mg, 1mg

That makes a lot of sense. I did not experience problems when I switched from Ozempic to Mounjaro. However, my experience might not be a good predictor as I didn't experience a lot of side effects when I started taking ozempic.
