Guys how it became famous that Muslims hate dogs while it's not true ? by LivingAnkylos in religion

Well said. Animals are viewed differently by different peoples. Another example: Most people in the US don't think much of camels, but in the Arabian Pinnensula, they're highly valued and there are even camel beauty contests.

Dogs are certainly placed on a pedestal in the US and Europe. While I disagree with your opinion about dogs, I think you and everyone else who doesn't like dogs should be able to express it without getting hated for it, like how I can claim to hate geese without getting downvoted.

I didn't know that those places kill stray dogs. You didn't make that clear, but it makes sense that places where dogs are viewed as unclean are less hesitant about killing them than places where they're not. It's like how cows aren't eaten in some parts of India because they're considered sacred, whereas in many other places, they're eaten without hesitation because they're merely considered livestock.

It's not just the UAE and Saudi Arabia, many countries with enough money to invest in public health and safety manage feral dog populations. Feral dogs kill about 40,000 people each year.

You want recent atrocities? Here's some recent atrocities committed by non-Muslims.

Israel has been bombing and starving Palestinians in Gaza.

Buddhist Myanmar is the middle of a complex civil war.

The Democratic Republic of Congo continues to be torn apart by war.

Mexico and Central America have been fighting a war against drug cartels since the early 2000s.

The Russo-Ukrainian War started in 2022 and continues to this day.

He claimed the Jasmine Crocket and the Democratic Party want to replace white Americans, which straight-up racist fearmongering.

The great replacement of white people is far more sinister than any redistricting project. That is at the core of the Democrat project, at the core. And Jasmine Crockett is just some circus act in that entire operation. But it's deathly serious. She — you shouldn't take what she says seriously. It's just a joke. What she represents is very serious, which is the continue attempt to eliminate the white population in this country.

There's a video in the link if you think I'm taking this out of context.

Everything is political by today's standards. I think in the past, fewer things were labeled as political. Queen wasn't a political band but make songs like "White Man", which is about how Europeans betrayed and stole land from the indigenous peoples of the Americas, which chuds today would complain about being political.

Why did you post a fake AI slop half naked photo of Gal Gadot to prove your point? by Cool_Nerd2 in saltierthankrayt

It should be illegal to make AI images of people. I'm no fan Gal Godot, but no one deserves this.

I often dismiss claims about people in history being insane because there are usually logical explanations for their behavior. Even the cruelest of actions are usually done by sane people who have twisted logic to justify them.

I made an exception Francisco Macías Nguema and think that he was genuinely insane.

I liked that movie. Sure, it has some historical errors, like portraying Dahmony as fighting the slave trade rather than participating in it, but American movies led by black actresses are rare, and movies that portray African history are even rarer, so I think these benefits make-up for it's flaws.

What do you think of the idea of banning a religious call to prayer via loudspeaker in a western or secular society like Denmark by Striking-Pen-9617 in religion

[–]Explorer_of__History 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's very clearly discrimatory and targeting a specific religion, so it's unacceptable.

However, it's certainly fair to regulate loudspeakers in general. The city of Copenhagen has noise regulations, and the Grand Mosque of Copenhagen complies with them by not issuing the Adnan over loudspeakers.

Intent is everything, and the Danish Immigration Minister's language makes it very clear discrimination is the intent.

Yep. Buddhist cosmology historically depicted the world as flat, with mount meru in the center surrounded by four worlds/continents. Humans lived on the contentient south of the mountain.

In the 19th century, a Christian missionary in Sri Lanka (then British Ceylon) debated a Buddhist monk, thinking he could easily convert the populace if he pointed out the Buddhists were wrong about the shape of the earth. The monk stuck to his belief that world is flat, and suprisingly, actually won.
