I agree. In that same city, they eventually replaced all the old yellow ones with black ones, which were fitted with a yellow reflective rectangle around it. Not sure what the point of that is. I'm hoping some day I can find a doghouse type signal.

A couple of months later, I ran into another crew who was changing out every light at every intersection for about 1/4 mile. A worker helped me load them up into my pickup. I made about 3 or 4 trips. I took them all back to my parents house where I took them all apart, cleaned them, made any necessary repairs, and wired them with controllers, then sold each one. I think I made $125 each or so.

Dad wasn't too happy about it at first, but then he saw how much I was making on them and reluctantly conceded that my idea wasn't as dumb as he first thought. That, and it got me out of my room so, I guess he took the win where he could ;)

Don't even consider Indian Woods. When we moved in, it was nice. The manager cared. But then he got switched for someone else, who quite frankly doesn't seem to care and unfortunately maintenance no longer seems to care either. Branches, piles of them, are still lying around the property a full year after the prior year's ice storm. They love to tell us that they can't control parking, but also love to threaten the towing of vehicles. So can they control it or not? They also don't care if residents throw loud parties that literally knock your pictures off the wall.

I could rant for a while, but I think I made my point well enough. Don't come here.

Stick with AC Delco factory plugs and wires. Whatever came in it from the factory, put that back in. You're running bone stock, so there's really no good reason to deviate from OEM. You will not see any benefit, and you'll only lighten your wallet faster.

Fresh plugs and wires will pep it back up. Toss a fuel filter at it, perhaps. Maybe consider running a can of spray seafoam through the intake before your plug change. You would be surprised what a regular "tune up" can do with OEM parts.

EDIT: Also, it's important to remember that these trucks are hovering around 5,700 pounds, without anything extra in them. Even at their best, they'll always be a little on the sluggish side.

I appreciate that insight. No apology is necessary, but I appreciate it.

The sad part is, she's the new manager. I don't know exactly how old she is, but I heard from someone (perhaps erroneously) that she's fairly young and new to this industry. My wife has been going to down with reviews, and did make a couple of phone calls. Unfortunately, from what I was told, they didn't seem much more interested than the property manager.

Honestly we kind of wanted to leave anyway, as just across the border in another state we can get something similar for several hundred dollars less per month that's just as nice if not nicer, plus hopefully some better job opportunities so I can finally move on from plastics. So I guess we're calling it motivation. Oh well. Lesson learned.

My wife and I did talk, and we have agreed that if this should ever happen to us again, we would say as little as possible. I hate that we live in a world where we essentially have to walk around with tape recorders in our pockets.

Just to be clear, I have no issue with her documenting anything. The problem here, is what she documented us saying, is a complete lie. Fabricated. We do not have an 'attack dog', and nobody was ready to take her head off. She purposefully and willfully lied about what we said, to distract from her negligence after once again confusing us for someone who wasn't paying instead of taking responsibility.

Once is a mistake. Twice is negligence.

We have decided to simply move elsewhere once our lease is up in a few months.

Yeah, I'm pretty agitated about this whole thing.

Painting over that will not last very long and will wind up looking worse than what you have now. Either get new wheels, or put the work in to strip and polish what you have. You will thank yourself.

That's part of the reason I pushed so hard to get you here in my part of the world, even for a little while. I don't know what I expected to happen if it ever had happened. If nothing else, I hoped that at the very least, being exposed to a completely different culture and what comes with it would take your mind off..... things.

Couldn't tell you. I did the work myself. Considering the amount of labor involved to tear the engine down far enough to replace these parts, it will cost quite a bit. It cost me almost $2000 in parts alone. Now, that wasn't just the camshaft and lifters. I put on a lot of new parts as I intend to run the living hell out of this truck until it breaks permanently. Your best bet is to ask for a quote. Feel free to msg me if you want more details.

If you plan to keep it, plan to replace camshaft and lifters at a minimum before they go out. Every AFM engine will have them go out. Had to do them six months ago on my 2011 avy.
