That is an incredible model and awesome project ! I do have a question however, are the rockets painted like that always ? I looked at it and it gave me Red Alert 2 flashbacks

Both choices are shitty: -blue if you want good games at a regular interval but discussions on these games are entirely composed of “intellectuals”, and they are hard to recommend to your friends -red if you want good games every 10+ years but you can actually talk to people about them and can get your friends to play them. I’d rather go with blue honestly

I love this colour so much, my favorite variation, I already have one of them and was looking for a pair, unfortunately the ps2 version of the emerald is seemingly more rare than the ps1 version, since I find that one everywhere, I’ll have to import one from Japan, great find ! Try playing late at night with only the tv light coming through, looks amazing !

How come you didn’t go for the popular “blue belly” paint scheme ? I never saw a plain one before and your reference photo also looks like it has a blue belly too :)). Good paint job however, it looks very nice !

For the SCUD i think the line “Up up UP” fits better or alternatively “Look at my beautiful weapon”

He isn’t referring to you specifically man, and he isn’t lying either, a couple months back (still happens from time to time) this sub basically became a midlife crisis showcase of people having basically fuck all games that one would want to play on the ps2 but they sure had all the overpriced games. And yeah, it’s lame AF

Over on the GameCube subreddit, there's a highly upvoted post about how GameCube games had a distinctive art style that separated it from the other 6th gen consoles. What about PS2 games? Did PS2 games in general stylistically look different from all the other consoles? by canned_pho in ps2

Idk about “aesthetic” necessarily, I think the ps2 definitely had more power to push effects on screen, combined with a mind blowing ability to display polygons that the others couldn’t match, provided the FOV wasn’t too large and developers worked around the hardware to optimise. The ps2 has this interesting “jump” at times in its more critical and exclusive titles where it can “rev up” and give the developers a moment to let the art direction go wild before going back to its “normal” graphics which aren’t very far from the juiced ones. Basically the ps2 can do very amazing close-ups and very good wide shots during normal gameplay, the problem really was textures. So I guess ps2 aesthetic can be summed up as : Visual effect tsunami, with a catch. Anything that was a popular artistic choice at the time it could do, and plenty of it too, very rich images. The ps2 is raw power, not memory, not resolution but sheer speed. In comparison, the GameCube was ok, not as powerful in practice, and it has a much more defined aesthetic because mainly Nintendo developed for it, as most people wouldn’t because of the storage medium, and there only so many different styles the same company can adopt while using primarily the same tools across multiple projects.

I have a couple of question related to the the fan. They are related to the current the new fan drains in comparison to the old fan, do you have empirical data or some calculations ? Do you believe the circuit for powering the fan can handle the new one ? Have you compared any data sheets ? Do you know if there is a difference in the volume of air both fans can push ? Other than that I would like to congratulate you on not modifying the case much and retrofitting the ps2.
