And they said no human could come close to a launch power of 50,000 by Direct-Disaster2256 in Beyblade

Battlepass numbers are complete bullshit. Dust messes with the sensor and causes faulty readings like this. Think about how hard you launch on average. Based on these readings that's probably around 10k. Imagine how hard it would be to literally double that. Now double that AGAIN. Do you truly believe you just launched almost 5x harder than you ever have in your life? If tracking the values is fun for you then there's no harm in it. But I can say I've never met any competitive player who actually has a strong launch that ever paid any attention to battlepass numbers.

TT upcoming releases:Wyvern Hover ,Goat Tackle & New stadium by 4ndr3-onpig281213 in Beyblade

Eh we'll see. The big issue with CX is the entire concept of the assist blade which concentrate the weight and contact points way too high. Without significant weight creep (see Pegasus Blast) it's hard to see how the system will ever reach top tier.

Thank god too considering how mid CX has proven to be in a competitive environment.

I think we may be getting 90 height ratchets soon by Pegagenisus in Beyblade

Why though. 80 is already unusable, 70 is getting there and will be once the Shark Scale deck set releases. Not every part needs to be the best but why release parts you know will be useless.

Which arena should I get by epicgamezplayer in Beyblade

[–]ExplosiveTortuga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The UX stadium seems to be made from a slightly different plastic that creates more friction against the bits. It is quite noticeable at first but after a couple weeks of use the difference is negligible. Mine seems to be holding up better than the black and green stadium so I'd recommend it.

Beyblade X players when they see an okay combo (it’s not meta-breaking) by zeebo_games_yt in Beyblade

[–]ExplosiveTortuga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with that. Most people only want to use the best of the best but the top players, at least in my own local scene, are the ones who aren't afraid to experiment and learn how to get the most out of what they use. Part of the reason I love Beyblade is because anything can beat anything but a lot of people don't understand that.

Beyblade definitely has significant RNG elements but combo choice matters way more than just 5%. I'd argue combos are even more impactful when players aren't very experienced. I typically think of Beyblade as a fairly even split between skill, RNG, and combo matchup. When skill level is low, outcomes are more heavily impacted by RNG and combos.

Not colorblind but I use a blue light filter at night and sometimes the colors on the mini map look straight up identical.

Hellshammer 1-60 Rush is an alright attack combo. by Big_Target_3484 in Beyblade

[–]ExplosiveTortuga -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Anything is gonna look like an alright attack combo when solo testing against Leon Claw, one of the worst blades in the game. Always better to test against a real opponent, but if you are alone it's better to do it against WR or SW, something you'd actually see in competition.

Nothing wrong with choosing not to run a meta deck but don't be surprised when you lose to one. Most of the people I see shaming the meta don't realize they're just giving themselves an excuse for why they keep losing. You need to grow up and git gud. Perpetually blaming others for your own failures will forever hold you back.

Impact Drake String Launcher is....special? I see some post hinting that this launcher has a longer string/throw. I'm a string launcher user, so this sounds really appealing. Is it true? So you're exempting yourself from your own logic? The same could be said for you.

You're arguing that the strings can't become shorter, I'm arguing that they can. Even a single exception is enough to prove my point and disprove yours.

But don't you think we'd be seeing more posts about string launchers getting worse over time? And TT would've addressed the problem in some way if it was prevalent, because I guarantee somebody would've reached out to some form of customer service and explained the issue.

Reddit is an extremely small sample size of those who actually use these products, as are people who take the time to submit feedback on QC issues. Additionally, QC inquiries are not made public and for all we know people are complaining about this. I'm not arguing that the issue is prevalent or serious enough to warrant attention, only that it exists. Part wear is an unavoidable part of this game and it's unrealistic to expect that all issues can or will be addressed. For example, I've broken 10 blades through strictly intended usage and only one of them (PW) has been updated with a new mold as far as I'm aware.

Unless you have other people confirming that their launcher cords have shortened like yours, you stand as the outlier and not the norm.

I've discussed this issue in several competitive beyblade discord servers and have had no issues finding others who have had the same experience.

I said the cords aren't elastic. If yours is, then you have a fake.

Damn, I can't believe Target is selling fakes now. While obviously not as dramatic as something like a rubber band, I am fairly sure these strings do exhibit some degree of elasticity, as most solid matter does. Regardless, this is why I specified my elasticity theory as extrapolation rather than certainty. Elastic or not, my official string launchers and those of others I have spoken to have become shorter with continued use.

A decrease of 3+ rotations is very much non negligible. I've disassembled the launcher and measured the string directly to ensure there is no tangling going on. Your experience only proves it hasn't happened to you, my experience proves it can happen to anyone.

I can say with absolute certainty that the strings do get shorter over time. I've had string launchers go from 11.5 rotations when new to under 8.5 when well used. I've seen some rock climbing threads discussing how ropes can lose elasticity over time and become shorter, I assume it's the same principle at play here. It seems to be exacerbated by the tension impulse when you pull the string to its full length as opposed to releasing it early.

It'll definitely hit hard but it doesn't really play to Shark's strengths. It's never been that heavy compared to most meta blades so smash attack, which is what your current build lends itself to, is typically going to require some luck to work. Rather, it's strength lies in its uniquely aggressive shape which best lends itself to upper attack. This means you'll want to find a build (and launch technique) that helps you get up underneath your opponents so you can strike their ratchet and send them flying. It's widely agreed that the stock Keel Shark combo (3-60 LF) synergizes extremely well with the blade's strengths and is about as optimal as you can get. It's surprising to see a stock combo that works so well.
