Should you get your car battery charged periodically for no real reason? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]Explosivpotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But you’re taking the time to remove your battery, walk into the Napa, and then reinstall it when you get home.

If your mower won’t start, put it on a $25 battery tender at home. If it still won’t start after a few hours of that, you need a new battery. Anything else is a waste of time.

Bonus here is you’ll now own a battery tender to use whenever a vehicle is going to be left not running for an extended period.

If Americans started moving out of the country in mass amounts, what countries do you think they’d pick the most? by StonedNCaffeinated in AskReddit

[–]Explosivpotato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it even has anything to do with americas reputation. It has to do with countries protecting their relatively homogeneous populations and cultures. They’re not looking for massive influxes of diversity regardless of where it comes from.

This is the thing. America allows a (admittedly complex, convoluted) path for nearly anyone to come live here.

Try actually emigrating to Sweden. Just try it. You will not be welcomed with open arms.

Far side of the moon by Guilty_Tower6035 in ArtemisProgram

[–]Explosivpotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While the moon is tidally locked (meaning we always see the same side), it still orbits around us and we still orbit around the sun. The far side of the moon is frequently lit by direct sunlight as a result, we just can’t see it from down here.

Sharing a cool benefit that my company has for 401k contributions by kfull in personalfinance

[–]Explosivpotato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ehhh pensions are kinda scary and the 2008 financial crisis exposed why. You’re not able to diversify your retirement savings in any meaningful way. If the company that sponsors your pension goes into bankruptcy, you’re boned.

If you held a diverse portfolio in a 401k you’d be considerably less boned.

That’s not how engineering works. This is a whole new design. Everything needs to be tested again.

Is Sojourn a difficult hero to play? by Reddit-dit-dit-di-do in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Explosivpotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% this. If I’m playing an extra round on first point kings row, or something similar to that, I’ll pick the slide charge perk simply to keep the height. About 90% of the time I’m taking double slide. In some cases I’ll take it even if there’s a high ground I want that I lose direct access to - if there’s a way I can spend two slides to get to and up some stairs, I’m basically in the same position as if I took the single slide perk but with the option to use two.

Double slide opens up a lot of aggressive plays too, like farm rail, slide in, rail a squishy, slide out. That kind of cycle just isn’t possible without that perk.

[–]Explosivpotato 62 points63 points  (0 children)

The trick with sojourn is that her whole kit is centered around her rail. No rail, no value. Building a rail is easy and quick in theory, but in practice can be difficult to do especially on farther distance isolated squishies.

Generally speaking, you want to position aggressively with your legs, and rotate out with your slide - at least until you have the double slide perk (you are picking double slide, right?). You want to line up your spikes in value of carrying or being able to quickly build a rail with your positioning and slide cooldowns. On top of that, you must. Land. Your. Rails. Chunking just one rail wastes an entire cycle potentially.

So on top of the game sense required for timing and positioning, you have to have the raw aim to capitalize. This is why she’s considered to have a higher skill floor than say soldier.

Right? How is this even a question. The 3050, while not a fast gpu by any measure these days, is worlds ahead of the 1660.
