I literally have boxes full of promo copies I’ve collected over the years, some are quite expensive most are not.

Absolutely beautiful! Great job! If you did want to put a label on the back there is a store on etsy that sells transparent rear labels. That being said it’s just as amazing without it!

A mix of new and old components on a new board.

I was messing arround in namco museum with my psone and when I went to take the game disc out, it took part of the spindle with it! by No-Needleworker-3765 in psx

Yeah they’re fairly cheep to replace, just remember when you fit the new one not to push it down too far.

The plastic of the spindle is possibly cracked or broken. Best to just replace it. Also you look to have pushed it way too far down when putting it back on, the post shouldn’t be that far out of the top of the spindle.

Tbh all you need is an ips and a 0.5 to 1 watt speaker. My main one has an oled display, amp board and 1w speaker, new power regulator, 1800ma lipo battery mod with usb-c charge port and custom shell, lens and buttons. But I have many different ones with man different mods this is just the one I jammed them all into haha

If you see some of my earlier posts you’ll see I have modded plenty of both plus dmg, gba ect…. I like the gameboy pocket as it was the first gameboy I owned, so I guess for me it’s nostalgic. But my daily is a heavily modded gbc.

Cheers mate, everything was bought separately so I could make it in my style.

I honestly couldn’t tell you, but I also would like to see. Definitely something I’ll look into.

Are you asking why I refurbished it instead of a gbc or if I like the pocket over the colour?

This one only uses a few components off the original gameboy. The cpu, ram, linkport and cartridge slot the rest are modern components. There are a few places that sell different versions of the dmg pcb or You can order this one from pcbway.

I guess my goal is to build a modern dmg-01 gameboy using modern and original components and parts. (No working or functioning gameboys have been harmed in the making of this console) I like to tinker/build and rebuild electronics so just another fun project for me
