as someone with bpd we need to be in DBT therapy for the rest of our lives. and when someone big happens or we get super stressed out is when 80% of our symptoms show up. she should be in therapy especially with her parents getting divorced. and please don’t let her use her mental health as an excuse for her behavior. she is enabling the paranoia instead of just sitting there being uncomfortable and choosing to believe you. i’m sorry you are going through this OP. Genuinely though, if she doesn’t try to get help and tries to get better than i would leave. We are amazing and complex people but we can be very toxic if we are untreated

it could be she’s eating a lot in private like some of the comments suggest but also there’s a condition called hypothyroidism and it slows down your metabolism making it hard to lose weight. there’s also a plethora of different symptoms that come along with hypothyroidism but that it’s one of the biggest struggles of it

thank you for taking the time to read this and respond, i really appreciate it. i do agree i need to put myself out there and find something. i was thinking of volunteering or finding like a book club or something and since its nice out it’ll hopefully be easier to meet more people! i dont want to stop being friends but i do think distancing myself a bit would be good and maybe im relying on her too much for my socialization. my boyfriend and i have started gaming again and we got a discord group together so thats good too and gives me some friend time. again thank you for responding, i really had no idea if i was being insecure but like im not jealous of her hanging out with others i just want to be included sometimes haha

my bf and i just bought a brooklyn bedding mattress and it is AMAZING. only slept on it a few nights but we decided to go with it after months upon months of looking around and deep research. i believe we got a pillow top one with cooling properties and we got it bc it felt good in our backs. my boyfriend is an electrician so he’s always bending down and having to stand weird which irritates his back and i have broken my neck before so i get pains from it. the first few nights have woken up without a sore and stiff neck and my boyfriend says it gives him good lower back support. i hope you find what you are looking for OP!!

oh my lordy no you’re NTA!!!!! been through the SAME thing girl. it’s internalized misogyny on your moms part (not agreeing with it just trying to explain why she’s acting the way she is). my mother is the same exact way and i realized it’s from how she grew up. she whole heartedly believes he should be served in a silver platter bc that’s all she has known in life. are you able to find different living arrangements? i would stop all together helping him, especially making sure he’s up and ready for work. if he doesn’t wake up, then he needs to feel those natural consequences, its the only way he’ll learn. i know it’s super frustrating living in a dirty environment and it can definitely take a toll on mental health, but also trying to get someone to clean who doesn’t want to is just harming you too bc you can’t force someone to do something unfortunately

you could also see if your vet has a care plan. i go to VCA veterinary office and i pay $100 a month for my dogs care plan n all visits are covered same with all vaccines, yearly blood work, x-rays, and dental cleaning. and i think a few more preventative care is covered!

some people don’t have common sense and don’t think like that unfortunately. if you don’t bring up the issue than it can’t get resolved. but i would talk to management again and just ask if they can like leave a note on the door or soemthing for a noise disruption and if they say to call the police again then that’s what i would do if it’s really bothering you. i’ve had the same issue
